    @ Rage:

Ritchie is a little more ‘robust’ !! ๐Ÿ˜‰

    @ Rage:

It is between the 2 of them.. Richie played with better players … but yes, maybe Richie is the greatest… close call though.

Lol… if u like robust players you should go for someone like jerry Collins or Martin Johnson .. Richie is a gentleman ๐Ÿ™‚

Epic Heineken Cup final. Far more enjoyable to watch than the other game on around the same time. Legends all over the field. Meyer needs to give Juan Smith a call.

Pity that Big Hit has not founded this site yet ….. we need more Poms here

I meant that Jonnie has had his injury problems and we do like to wrap him in cotton wool ready for the ‘Big Occasions’!!

We Poms can be very argumentative and opinionated though!! ๐Ÿ™„

    @ Blue Bird:

Sure, some certainly are.. but I don’t expect the likes of Simon Cowell or Jeremy Clarkson to join RT

Poms like Big Hit and Carol from Keo for example were never self opinionated… would be nice to see them here

Next week’s game between the Sharks and Stormers will be massive and very nb in the context of the comp for the sharks

  • 251

IMO Damian de Allende is currently the best number 12 in SA rugby and Carr is also very unlucky not to be part of the Bok setup

  • 252

    @ robzim:
Too many free loaders are on the Boks’ banwagon already, HM should have been more careful to curb expectations but he didn’t
After all it’s his his last chance to beat the ABs meaningfully, the 2015 Test season is expected to be a farce because of the RWC

  • 253

The ‘Trevor’ is rewarded for his gallant efforts yesterday by inclusion in the Boks training squad, another FS ‘stalwart’ Teboho Mohoje is in too! ๐Ÿ˜‰
It’s just the pundits who will be difficult to convince, I am sure however it gets Nama and Transformation’s approvals!

See a few of you watched the Toulon game. I watched it and how good was Juan Smith? That tr of his was just brilliant. Still a world class player. Would not mind ar all if Meyergave him a call up.

Another thing I have always been for us staying in SR with our SH partners but just looking at that game and the full house stadium think we should have headed north. Especially now with the rotten deal we got from 2016 we will just be playing amongst ourselves really. We really should never have accepted tat deal and gone north. The travel would be a breeze and to plsy in full stadiums like that would have been briliant. On Friday I notced the stadium Sharks played in had a grass seating area like we have in cricket. Jeepers never thought you got rugby stadiums like those still. We in SA are used to huge rugby stadiums.

Sorry now we never headed north and I was always one to stay here in the SH but don’t feel that wy any longer with the rubbish deal formst us saffashave to play in 2016.

So pleased to see Lewies got called up to the Bok training squad. Well done youg man well deserved.

    254 @ Puma:
Hello Puma yes there certainly is great atmosphere at these big European games, would have loved to have been in Cardiff this weekend with the Amlin Challenge final on Friday and yesterday’s Heineken Cup one. Regarding going north – the age old problem of differing seasons would need to be sorted and who is to say the north would want SA to join, the travel may be less for SA teams but considerably increased for Northern Hemisphere teams if they had to travel to SA for their matches. Didn’t see the Sharks game so not sure how full the stadium was but think that the big stadiums are ok if they are full, not easy these days to get these big stadiums in SA full for anything other than top test matches. In a way it can seem a bit hollow and flat if the games are being played in quarter, even half full huge stadiums with empty spaces everywhere, the smaller stadiums may not bring in as much ticket revenue but when they are packed here it is a great place to watch a game and in any case so much of the revenue these days comes from TV deals, stadium naming rights, shirt sponsors or even wealthy people who want to put their money in like with Toulon.

You again! Your racist undertones are shining through again.Park it, you Nazi.

  • 259

Toulon had a virtual World XV out on the field with other internationals like Chris Masoe, Fred Michalak and David Smith not even required for duty. Only three French players in their run-on team? Was hoping Sarries could upset them but it wasn’t to be.They might lose a couple of ageing stars like Daniesourus and sir Jonny at the end of this season but the likes of Halfpenny and Gorgodze are joining them ahead of the new season.Scary and not good for world rugby…imho

I wonder whether Jonny Wilkinson will really be knighted for services to rugby.. He probably needs to do a bit more …the only 2 British rugby players/coaches who were ever knighted are Clive Woodward and Ian McGeegan who both had successful playing and coaching careers. The only other knighted rugby players/personalities are New Zeelanders like Graham Henry, Colin Meads and John Kirwin.

hehehe… they seem to be on the comeback trail and might still be around for a few years.

Did you see Peyper has been rewarded for services to KZN rugby by being appointed to ref on Saturday at Newlands again?

  • 264

    @ Robzim

I’m not too sure how the process works..how they decide on who gets knighted and when but I reckon Jonny is in with a pretty good shout in the not-too-distant future…correct me if I’m wrong but didn’t that man McCaw decline knighthood at the beginning of 2012 on the basis of him still playing? At the same time when Henry got his?
Ironically,I think if Jonny had won the Cup for Sarries last night he would’ve been touched with the sword right there and then!

Peyper is the designated referee for the Sharks in Durban.
The sad thing is that the Sharks are the last of the SA sides who really need intervention from a ref, they are more than good enough to beat any side, especially the other SA sides by themselves

  • 267

    robzim @ 266
It looks that way with Peyper’s appointment!

    @ Hondo:
Actually, I don’t approve of HM playing the numbers game when it comes to training squads only then to ignore certain players when he selects his actual team. Mohoje, Trevor and Hendricks (even JdJ) are only there to make the numbers look good in the squad. As you may well know, I don’t like window dressing.

Just read that Jean is out of the June tests and will be back for the RC.

So who will captain? Probably Victor or will Meyer give his Vice Captain Bissie the Captaincy? Wonder?

    263 @ robzim:

Well not sure what you both on about but he was the ref when we played the Landers and lost horrible to them.

Rob the game is at the Tank this weekend and not Newlands bud.
