    Well not sure what you both on about but he was the ref when we played the Landers and lost horrible to them.
    Rob the game is at the Tank this weekend and not Newlands bud.

    Landers took him out of the equation by scoring tries Puma, they still had a player binned as well.
    This is his 5th game for the Sharks in Durban out of about 6 or 7 they have played at home. Don’t you find it strange?
    I personally don’t think he has made the Sharks win, they are more than good enough to have beaten all those opponents, but I do believe he helped them get the BP tries against the Bulls and Lions, and you can be sure the opponents will be down to 14 men at some stage, especially the Anzacs. Why do you think their refs did the same to your team on their tour?
    Difference was, the Sharks were good enough to overcome the bias, shows you the quality of your side

    With Lewies inlusion and Paul willemse not selected it is again where HM’s loyalties lie, he only sees black and white Conceited

    @ Puma:
    Schalk was the ORIGINAL choice as captain 2 years ago I believe, will have to see how serious his injury is, i think it could well be quite serious.

    Victor will be captain
    He was always destined to be captain under HM for the Bokke, it may be 7 years after they thought it would be, but it’s never too late

    @ nortierd:

  • 276

    @MB 275
    Dis die waarheid. Jean het goed gedoen en het n rol vervul, maar dalk, soos met Habana, is dit tyd vir nuwe bloed so hier en daar.
    Ek het al gedink Vic sal kaptein wees die oomblik toe hy aankondig hy gaan weer speel, ook dink ek HM wil hom inbring as lynstaan konsultant maar die Bulls wou nie nog n afrigter afstaan nie, so dis een manier om hom in te trek, as n speler

  • 277

    @ nortierd:

    yip.. Jonny deserves it imo… not so sure how it works either .. but i think Richie declined it when they approached him about it based on the fact that he is still playing…he will certainly accept it when he retires if they offer it to him again… good for him, i think it was the right thing to do specially as he is participating in a team sport and is still playing.

    The cyclist Bradley Wiggins accepted his for being the first British rider ever to win the Tour de France …and he is still active.. but in cycling the individual rider always gets more recognition than the team…so perhaps it is ok.

    Only person i am aware of who totally rejected it is the musician David Bowie… but he is an artist and they are different although Mick Jagger accepted his and is now Sir Mick Jagger 🙂

    @ nortierd:
    Ja en speel ons hom, pas hy nie werklik in by n “expansive” gameplan nie.

  • 282

    @ robzim: Howzit Rob. I’m really enjoying connecting with you guys again. Now that that this little fact’s out of the way; I thoroughly enjoyed my evening at Newlands last night. That was one incredible game to witness. I’m pretty much a normal bloke who’s watched his rugby from season ticket holder seats and occasionally a hospitality suite from time to time. But on this occasion it was the luxury of a prime site ‘box’ in the best position in the stadium and one could see the entire game from a ‘prime’ position. Was perfect I tell ya. It felt like we were 10 stories up there, like gods looking down on mere mortals, in the storm, but protected from the storm, if you know what I mean. And some of those mortals were performing beyond expectation. Walking back to our vehicle after the game I can attest to the damage from the storm. It was extreme. One Hyundai was wiped out by a felled tree, that I could see. That part of Newlands was in darkness for a while. Just thought you’d be interested to know.

    As jy die woorde Frans en expansive in dieselfde sin gebruik, gaan Puma aanlyn kom en vertel dat hy nie meer al die pies en croissants eet nie en dat sy waistline nie meer expansive is nie

    I am prepared to bet money on it that the Sharks will win against the Stormers in Durban under Peyper but will lose at newlands under any other referee. That is just how it is..

    As Nortier pointed out the landers totally outplayed the Sharks in Durban and even peyper could not save them… if the game was more even he would have been the difference .

    Damian at no 12 and the Kaap will be Hollands again.

  • 286

    @ nortierd: you make some very good points Nortie. Fransie is but 22 years old, impressionable and certainly prone to emotions. He’s shown this. That’s a dangerous cocktail for Heyneke to negotiate. It might work but it might not. Massive risk. HM is no fool. He’d be acutely aware of that particular risk. Lambie is pretty much a normal player/risk.

  • 287

    @Tassies
    It was clear to see how much Frans reveres Jake when he cried after the Bulls game because he missed some drop kicks and he felt he let Jake down.
    He also made it clear that he felt nothing for Divvie, so I’m guessing he will cooperate with HM, but I don’t think he will give as much for him as he would for Jake.
    Will be interesting to see where he wants to play, he is only playing flyhalf for the Sharks because needs him there, he won’t easily sacrifice so much for someone else

  • 288

    @ robzim: Damian is pretty much the form midfielder right now. 12 or 13.
    How he’s employed by HM is another story I’d be interested to observe.

  • 289

    Anyone watching the cricket?
    Mumbai is going for 190 in 14 overs to qualify
    Doing a great job of the chase.
    Need 20 odd runs from 8 balls, already 170 from 13 overs

    Good to have you here. very nice post.

    i went mtb- ing yday and just made home before the weather closed in.. was in such a hurry i might have broken my record, will have to check Strava once downloaded.

    I hope it’s not Gunther’s Hyunday that was crashed by a tree…. i know it’s his lifetime ambition to upgrade from a piccanto to a Hyunday 🙂

    Is the longboard still gathering dust or have you been out again lately?

  • 291

    @Rob
    Doesn’t Gunther have the Picanto?
    Lol

    spit spit haha

  • 293

    @Rob
    Sorry, only now saw the last part of your post, about the upgrade part
    Overjoy

  • 294

    @ nortierd: Nortie I’m pretty much thinking along your lines boet. Fransie is not the sparkiest plum on the tree but he is an extrodinary talent. Jake gave him his chance and I’d guess he’d cut off his arm for Jake. Divvie was compromised by this, aside from any other issues. HM; who knows? Fransie is not your normal run-of-the-mill player. That’s for sure. Handle him well and you prosper.

  • 295

    Wasn’t it Meyer who went to Racing Metro to try and convince Fransie to come back?

  • 296

    Mumbai needed 8 of 2 balls to qualify within 14.4 overs
    Six and a run out
    Shame, they will win the game, but lost out by 1 run
    Sad finish
    Scores are level, so a 6 or 4 will put them through from the next ball

    good game

    First ball the guy faces
    Jeez, 195 from 14,4 overs
    Brilliant
