Chiefs Coach Dave Rennie said, “Augustine is a real high quality person whose game has developed in leaps and bounds over the past couple of years and we are rapt that he has re-committed to the Chiefs.”

“He is a dynamic and physical player with an outstanding kicking game.”

Pulu selected to stay with the back-to-back champions, saying “I would like to thank my family, my Chiefs family and the good Lord above for his guidance in this decision. I enjoy the Chiefs environment and have learned so much.”

“I am fortunate that over the last few years I have access to the best coaches in the world, so I feel for the continued development of my rugby, that it is best that I remain at the Chiefs.”

Pulu made his Super Rugby debut in 2012 against the Blues in Hamilton.

The former Wesley College student plays his ITM Cup for Counties Manukau and was awarded their Player of the Year in 2013 after helping his side lift the Ranfurly Shield for the first time in the Union’s history.
