    @ Puma:
Pooms, we have to admit though boet that the new coaching staff is not throwing anything into the mix to make us confident, people were quick to trash Plum and Bashford and Edwards, but we played better quality rugby under their coaching than is the case now, If we lost like the Lions did today one can walk away and say beaten by the better team today blah blah blah, can we say the same?

  • 272

    @ Puma:
Well the Bulls have been playing kick and chase for years and have scored tons of tries 😛

Well I am quite apathetic to who wins, if in the last round the bulls play and overseas team to top the conference ahead of the sharks, it is extremely unlikely that you will support the Bulls.

Calling like it is, the sharks backline has been overrated, the forwards have been what kept them in the games this year with lambie and steyns tactical kicking, struggled to score tries and Bsimarck lends to quite a few off the ball incidents… these are facts.

  • 273

I know we can use the loss of some players as an excuse, but the players playing are all very good players, yet they seem to be clueless.

    21. Charl McLeod, 22. Heimar Williams, 23. SP Marais

The back line reserves for the Sharks today. Why wasn’t there a FH reserve? JW should’ve taken off Fransie at half time already to give them a chance.

Well it looked like we were playing just another saffa side today Nama. The Sharks under Plum played attacking rugby in 2012 we were one of the teams with the most off loads in the whole tourney. Now we playing rubbish kick and chase rugby which is not Sharks rugby that I am used to seeing. Yes, we played bad last year and kicked a lot but there we had 18 players out injured so took the safe route and still lost. Our forwards played far better under Plum than this new forwards coach we got from the Bulls u19. As far as I know Jake takes care of defence and not the forwards. Probably still his game plan though. What we need is a better forwards coach and backline coach. Jake should have had his say on his assistant coaches. John had hired them before he brought Jake in. So suppose Jake was stuck with them.

Still wish we had Plum even as our forwards coach. Just watch Ireland how they have improved with Plum there.

@ Nama: would not have taken Steyn off but moved him to 12

  • 277

Gaan almal die bulle o/19 proewe kyk op ss1?

  • 278

    @ Nama:
Better still, don’t select him. If he does not score 55m penalties, his contribution to the game amounts to zero.

  • 279

    @ Sharks_forever:
and Plumtree has done so well at the Irish, I think he would have been an awesome acquisition for the Stormers.

    274 @ Nama:

We had no flyhalf cover. The two games Swiel has played he was far worse than Fransie. So could not risk him and most definitely not in the rain. This game style does not suit his game either. We missing Lambie huge and if we had Fred we would have been fine. Fransie has come good for us in many games as he likes 12 and not really flyhalf. He is only filling in there and up until today has filled in there quite well.

Losing our 1st choice flyhalf and then our 2nd choice was a big blow for us. Our other best is now in Cape Town going to play for Stormers soon. How we let Du Preez go was madness in exchange for Swiel. Have no idea. Swiel would have suited us when we were playing under Plum. He needs a full senior CC to come right I feel. Or play him at full back where he has more time on the the ball and shift Mvovo back to wing and have to say keep Odwa as JPP is not playing well.

    @ Sharks_forever:
The man never passes. He is stifling your back line play. Leave him out of the side for 1 or 2 games and you’ll see that the Sharks CAN play running rugby.

Jy bedoel Bulle teen Sharks proewe?
Almal weet waarnatoe gaan die Grey kinders eventually

  • 283

    @ Nama:
I like what campese said, no one really gave Steyn any support, al the quick ball the Sharks got, Reinach was trying to run by himself.

  • 284

haha Affies vs Grey speel tot die fluitjie blaas

  • 285

    @ Puma:
    Lambie, Zeilinga, Swiel, Steyn.

No matter who was at FH for your team this year, you have struggled to score tries, Puma. How many have you scored this year?

  • 286

    276 @ Sharks_forever:

Yes feel for Fransie. He is playing out of position. Might have moved Jordaan there. Just not sure though as he has not played there for a long time. Such a pity Steyn never had his kicking boots on. We played rubbish and still could have won this game. I thought we were gonna take a massive hiding instead came away with a losing bonus point and had we got all our kicks would have won playing this bad. So for that going to take a bit of positive out of this really awful game.

Not going to blame Fransie as he has won us a few games this season.

  • 287

    @ MacroBull:
But the also, every ball that Fransie received from Reinach, he went looking for contact. Does he have no faith in Jordaan next to him?

  • 288

    285 @ Nama:

We scored 4 tries against the Bulls with Lambie at flyhalf. Also played well against the Canes think we got 2 tries there. 4 tries against the Lions as well.

Nama how many 4 try bonus points has your team got this year? Also in 2012 how many 4 try bonus points.. 😆

  • 289

The only effective thing Lambie has done this year has been kicking. @ Nama:
Yep that last movement, steyn crash ball williams crash ball steyn crash ball

  • 290

    289 @ MacroBull:

Rubbish. Go back and look at the 1st game against the Bulls. Where he GOT our backline away and he was taking it flat and to the line. He also got a try in that game. So you talking crap as usual.. Pondering
    Tounge-Out

  • 291

Mooi drei Grey… altwee fullbacks in die game is huge

  • 292

Also we must remember that having a different backline every week does nothing for continuity. every bloody week a new center combination

  • 293

    @ Puma:
I think they should measure themselves with the Kiwis though and not teams 10th and 11th on the log who were completely incometent with countering the tactical kicking… I mean a bonus point with Louis Fouche kicking everything away with horrible kicks?

    Hi Puma,

I hope you are well… the way i see it is that Jake White and AC have very much the same rugby philosophy… it’s based on a low risk game playing for territory and hardly ever do anything in their own half with the ball than to kick it…Plumtree was different.. he is a kiwi after all.

AC is now forced to change his ways as he has big brother (Gert) looking over his shoulder.

I agree with U re Swiel and du Preez… Swiel is a very good attacking player with a lot of flair ( a bit like Coleman) but when the going gets tough he is not the type of player you need in your team. I have not much doubt that du Preez will start for the Stormers next year.

Anyway, tough luck… at least your team still has a very handy lead in the Conference.

  • 295

    292 @ Sharks_forever:

Exactly. That is exactly how it was for us last year. Every week we had a different centre combo and we struggled because of it as well. This week it done us no favours either. Was really hoping Fred was going to start with Steyn and Jordaan at centre. Then read Fred had to fly back home with a injury. That was a blow for us. Losing Marcel was a blow as well. Actually losing Lambie and Psdt a huge blow from very early on. How we still hanging in there have no clue but we are. I am not even thinking of us picking up any more points on tour from here. Doubt we will against Saders or Blues. Then just to think we played really very bad today and almost won that game. But the kiwi sides are a different beast totally. They much, much better and think we will struggle playing this stupid kick and chase especially against them.

  • 296

    @ Puma:
This is why we all like having a go at the Sharks, this has always been how the teams under Jake White has played and he was welcomed to Durban with spectacular fanfare.

  • 297

    294 @ robzim:

Thanks Rob, Some positive points there and I agree. How you doing bud? Hope well.

Look at least your team are working on a good game plan for next year and they looking damn exciting. Reminds me of how the Sharks played.

One thing about Jake when he is beat he will know to get help do I have to just think he will know he needs help from someone. We have Mitchell living here in Durban he should give him a call or his friend Eddie because this game plan sucks and it is not totally working for us at all.

I also think Jake got stuck with the two coaches John had hired before he arrived. The Bulls u19 coach that now coaches our forwards and our backline coach is not up to it either.

Look I think Swiel has huge talent he seems to suffer huge nerves at this level. Also this game plan does not suit him not one bit. Think we will see Sharks play a different game plan in the CC and might see him play a better game there. Unless Jake wants all the teams to play to this game plan then I give up really as it will get us no where at all.

  • 298

Surely even Jake with all his bravado and talk of winning all 4 on tour must realize that the odds are slim that they will beat the Crusaders.
This will be a perfect time to rest Alberts, Frans and Bismarck to name a few.
He is not rotating unless forced by injury, and these guys will go straight into the tests and back to the bussiness end of SR without any rest.
It’s going to cost them come play off time

  • 299

    296 @ MacroBull:

Well he did get the Brumbies with no names to the final last year. Just look at the Brumbies today they STILL playing Jakes game plan.

Jake also won us a world cup. Also in his very first year as Bok Coach absolutey pumped the All Blacks at Ellis Park 45 – 26. I have yet to see Meyer’s Boks even beat the All Blacks. Jake is a good coach but he plays to a particular game plan. He knows when he needs help and I expect him to get it. Just give Mitchell a call here in Durbs as he lives and works here. Give Campo a call as well he lives in the same estate as me just two blocks down the road. Those two are living here. Who knows he just may.

  • 300

    @ nortierd:
Good point, Alberts really looks tired, I would rest beast as well, difficult to rest Fransie if Fred isn’t fit, Bismarck also deserves a break. Could be a master stroke, and new blood from Chadwick and Cooper could be usefull on tour.
