Super RugbyIt is Round 16 of Super Rugby 2014 this weekend, the last Round before the June Test Break! We have 7 games in Round 16, with 2 game on Friday and 5 games on Saturday.

The Toyota Cheetahs have a BYE weekend.

In June / July 2014 the Antipodian teams will catch up in played games with the South African counterparts, when the South African sides sit out for 1 Round.

The Combined Log will therefore be skewed for the majority of the competition and one has to question why individual countries are allowed to start such a long competition ahead of it’s rivals. In 2013 the Australian sides started a week early, but at least they had the excuse that they needed an extra week in the middle of the year to prepare for the British & Irish Lions series, which they lost.

    114 @ Hondo:

Do you gamble Hondo? That is ONE thing I am totally against. I have never and will never ever gamble. It is like throwing money down the tubes.

  • 122

    120 @ Blue Bird:

Sharks by a few Carol. Anything by 2 to 5. It will be a very tight game. Saffa teams know how to beat each other. Also remember the Sharks were in a strong position in 2012 just before the June tests and all the Shark Boks in that game against the Lions went walk about. Think NONE wanted to risk injury as not to play for the Boks. So hoping somehow this game they go and play like they done against the Saders and Blues and give everything they got.

Have a good day Carol enjoy it. Catch up later.

  • 123

    117 @ Puma:
There was also someone that COMPLAINED that Meyer only cares about his win/loss record. Overjoy Overjoy Daar is nie pille nie.

  • 124

Some of the comebacks on news24 😀

    1. Omgeklits probeer verstaan hoekom HM nie i trophy kan wen nie.. Dink daaroor. Ja ons weet die bulls het 3 koppies GEHAD destyds. But as ek nou loftus tu gan dan is jul trofee kas vol stof, leeg…

Comeback. Hahaha. Ten minste het is daar in die stof drie ring merke van drie koppies, by jou span en die res is dit n egalige lagie stof.

  • 125

Goosen off to Racing Metro it seems.

  • 126

Gosh not only is the Sharks Stormers game going to consist of tackling and waiting for the other team to make mistakes, but Matthew Pearce and Bob Skinstad are doing another Stormers game. Crazy

  • 127

    Hondo’s considerable skills.

That’s the farking larf of the day right there.

    Poor glass garden gnome.

First stop on his way to France will be Venice.

They have some of the best glass blowers in the world.
It’s going to be like something out of a 6 Million Dollar Man episode.
“Johan Goosen, rugby player, cut down by injuries in the not yet prime of his life. Our team of master glass blowers are going to make him better, stronger and to last longer”

Could be worse, I suppose Hugh “dronkgat, can’t remember who is who, but I know where they went to school” Bladen, Joel ” you see that spot, that’s where I once kicked a winning drop goal from” Stransky and Owen ” thank God for Affirmative Action so now I also have a job commentating” Nkumane will be at Ellis Park.

Give me Pearce and Skinstadt any day over that bunch

  • 130

    @ nortierd:
Thats easy for a stormer to say 😛 Pearce probably has posters of all the stormers players plastered all around his house. All-I-See-is-Love

  • 131

    @MB
Not even Hugh Bladen on helium will be able to make the Sharks v Stormers game sound exciting.
Remember last year’s game between these 2 sides.
Wasn’t half time an awesome, exciting, brilliant score line of 0-0?

  • 132

Ek sien Tom & Jerry het weer lekker pret op die web gehad vandag………..

    Flok, maar julle is irriterend!!

    Go Sharks!!
    Go Bulls!!
    Go Chiefs!!

  • 133

    @132
    Go Sharks
    Go Waratahs
    Go Bulls

  • 134

    @ nortierd:
Yep will be different when the stormers dont try to run from everywhere and concede points by making mistakes. Definitely wont be a game of great skill, but will surely be a game of some serious intensity, I just hope Peyper at least makes it a fair fight.

  • 135

Going to be a great game

    I somehow doubt that.
At least it’s good to know that Jake is scared of the wooden spoonists, lol.

  • 137

    @ nortierd:
Nothing will make you sound exciting.

This would sound awesome though 😀

  • 138

    @ nortierd:
I have no idea why he is so “stressed” 😀

You would also be stressed if you knew a world wide Internet audience gets very emo about your results.
Worrying times indeed, knowing that no one is better than you, but 1 slip up somewhere may dash the dreams of countless black and white clad people.
They have been longing and dreaming for this moment so long, he won’t be able to live with the guilt of knowing that he has let his faithful down.

And of course, a more likely scenario is that he knows he can get top dollar somewhere else if he can add a SR trophy to his CV

  • 140

    @137
Sounds like Beast on a regular day

  • 141

    @ nortierd:
At all costs, We said in round 5 that this is going to be a routine of playing the players to the ground but we were waved off as crazy that early in the season. Everytime there is a sharks game I swear I can go outside and cut the tension of winning and losing with a knife.

To a point where even international test matches dont matter, one of our friends here even suggested they should never have let plumtree go 😉 now jake is a godly figure haha

I even read on SW today that kids grow up wanting to play for the sharks and not the boks, and people agreed in unison…now if someone said that on here I would laugh it off because its obviously a joke, but that guy was serious… some jaw gaping stuff

  • 142

    @ nortierd:
In a way I think we are the biggest sharks supporters on here, we see merit in resting players and having some rotation on key players so that they can win the cup… It just does not make sense to play injured key players.

  • 143

    @141
I also overheard that some of the guys that HM invited to the Bok camp were saying that their dream is to one day play for the Sharks
    Happy

Jake will either be leaving Durban on an open top bus with some of our friends lining the streets of Durban 1 deep, or in trunk of a 1975 Valiant with new rims, never to be seen again

We just sometimes see the bigger picture.
As a Stormer supporter I know full well that ending top of the log and winning the Conference Cup means nothing if you cant go on and finish the job, or your key players are injured when it really matters, they must still learn that lesson

  • 145

    @ nortierd:
I don’t think there has been this much tension in durban since world war 2, can you also feel it? it’s chilling

  • 146

    @145
It costs a lot of money planning a ticker tape parade and the deposit on the busses in not refundable.
Stressful times indeed, especially if your books are already being investigated

  • 147

    @ nortierd:
Well all the senior players are going to retire after this triumph, finish the competition, and play the all blacks, thats all that matters. That should free up some dough.

  • 148

We should even rest the sharks players so they play in the currie cup when we play minnows like Argentina and Australia Happy-Grin

It’s expensive buying all the youngsters out there, have you seen their Craven Week side, or should that be Weak side?
I wouldn’t be surprised if they have already made an offer on Schalla’s son.

The Golden Era is only preserved for trophies like the SR, CC and Vodacom Cup.
Second rate tournaments like the RC and WC doesn’t count because the Sharks are not competing in it and their name won’t be engraved on it.
