Scott Williams has become the latest player to rule himself out of Wales’s tour to South Africa in June.
The Scarlets’ centre had hoped he would have recovered from the shoulder injury he sustained playing for Wales against Ireland in the Six Nations.

But the trip next month has come too soon for him and he is expected to focus on rebuilding his strength and fitness in summer training with the Scarlets.
Wales are holding their ‘trial-match’ this week in order for Warren Gatland to have a closer look at his charges.
This is a bold move by Gatland who is already facing a massive injury list.
With injuries aplenty as well as questions being asked of the French and English clubs to release players, one has to wonder the quality of players that will tour the Republic.
Wales are already missing the injured Sam Warburton, Justin Tipuric, Leigh Halfpenny and Ashley Beck.
Richard Hibbard is a major doubt and Rhys Priestland joined the casualty list when he limped off playing for the Scarlets against the Blues.
Wales’ tour of South Africa:
- June 10: Warm-up match v Eastern Province Kings in Port Elizabeth
- June 14: First Test, Durban
