The Waratahs have announced that Israel Folau will miss this weekend’s Super Rugby match against the Stormers in Cape Town on Saturday.
Folau suffered a throat knock two weeks ago when he was playing against the Rebels and missed last week’s loss to the Sharks.
The fullback was rated as 50/50 earlier this week by coach Michael Cheika but he has now been ruled our for a second week.
Cheika has now changed his backline and moved Kurtley Beal to fullback and last week’s No 15 Jono Lance has moved to No 12.
Waratahs: 15 Kurtley Beale, 14 Alofa Alofa, 13 Adam Ashley-Cooper, 12 Jono Lance, 11 Peter Betham, 10 Bernard Foley, 9 Nick Phipps, 8 Dave Dennis (Captain), 7 Michael Hooper, 6 Jacques Potgeiter, 5 Kane Douglas, 4 Will Skelton, 3 Sekope Kepu, 2 Tatafu Polota-Nau, 1 Benn Robinson
Replacements: To follow (Friday).
Okay Stormers, you need to win this. The Tahs don’t offer much without Folau.
Not loving the new look, GBS. It wasn’t exactly easy on the eye before either, but I think this is even worse. Sorry, just my opinion.
