Piet van Zyl had a shocker today, as did Ulrich Beyers & Jono Ross (again).

    Bulls scrums went well.

Jacques-Louis Potgieter and Rudy Paige had good games.

BIIIIG problem was at the breakdown battle, where Hooper & friends moerred the Bulls silly!

  • 272

On a serious note! I worry about SA rugby… Even Ozzies looking way better than us… The world cup is just around the corner…

Spot on analysis… Also concerned about the centres… defensively very suspect… better second half though…

How shit the bulls played… still got a bp

  • 275

Unfair to criticise Ross by Paulse. Ross is a 8 and I say it again a 8 NOT a openside like Stegmann.

Aussies are way better than us.
They will stop the AB’s record number of wins in Sydney.
They are showing Ewen they can play the Australian way and trying their best for selection.
Next year they will be in with a shout come WC time

Nee kyk, as ander spanne en hul ondersteuners die Bulle begin jammer kry en goed sê soos julle het darem nie te sleg verloor nie, daar was ook positives, dan weet jy hoe swak het Bulle span geword.

bulls tour still in the balance. if we can win the force it would be a success imho

He isn’t selected at 8, but at 6, so he must be judged at 6.

    @276 @ nortierd:
…seems our rugby is going backwards again… no structure – more hope than anything else… Kick and hope the opposition makes mistakes… 🙄

    274 @ MacroBull:
They played far better in the 2nd half. If not fast asleep in the very first 28sec with the Tahs qick try, Tahs would not have won it would have been a draw. Had Bulls played like they done in the 2nd half in the 1st who knows they might have won.

Your team still have 3 points from this tour and if they pick up 4 or 5 points next week if they win then they had not such a bad tour.

I dont think hougaard has even played worse. it feels like he is sabotaging himself from ever playing on wing just because he does not want to

  • 283

    278 @ MacroBull:
…and the Force are definitely a ‘force’ who are playing great rugby… gonna be a tough game either way…

  • 284

    281 @ Puma:
    Qick=quick

Will be better when HM brings in the NH players.

As you know, it is a an SA traditional thing, north/south teams go bad, SA rugby suffers,
we need a strong WP/NTvl base…..fortunately we still have the Ikeys flying the flag down south, so there is hope!

  • 287

    285 @ nortierd:
… yeah! He has no choice, does he…

  • 288

    @ Gumboots:
huh the waratahs capitalised on bulls mistakes rather than creating their own… the force also beat the tahs last week capitalising on their mistakes. the rebels capitalised on the forces mistakes rather than creating anything either.

    279 @ nortierd:
I agree, he’s been selected at No 6 (openside), so if he does not perform at No 6, he and his coach who picked him there are both to blame.

When Vleis Engelbrecht came on for Ross he was busy, he carrid the ball well, he did not knock and he did not give a penalty away… hell even the breakdowns improved.

Ross is a kak player, Vodacom Cup quality at best… even in his natural position of No 8.

Bulls have Wimpie van der Walt on tour… and there is also Wiaan Liebenberg as true opensiders… at least they are true opensiders, why not use them!!

the force are playing south african rugby… they are defending their hearts out and depending on counter attacks… they also got their asses handed to them yesterday.

  • 292

Too much ball drops by the Bulls when they went wide, almost each time
They were penalised in the rucks by a scoundrel referee, they just played into his hands time and again
And kicked away possession outrageously too much
    A lack of brain-work? I believe so,
A relentless Pick and Drive was their best option today but they exercised it only 3 times in the whole game?

Oh yeah… the Tigers roar… 😆 The pride of Africa…

    288 @ MacroBull:
Yes, but the Bulls made it very easy for them, by kicking too much ball away…

…more like the Stormers of old type of rugby…it works when you can defend…

  • 295

I agree with Pietman… when our north south teams are poor, our rugby is poor…

  • 296

the game in the first half was summed up by in the first half hougaard got the bal from a kick on his 22 with no one infront of him for 40+ meters… but still kicked the ball.

then trying to run it with 4 players charging at him.

  • 297

278 @ MacroBull: jy maar met min tevrede. 😉

  • 298

It’s no use complaining about the ref. Bulls got a dubious bonus point try against the Blues, Peyper has been gifting the Sharks bonus points for 4 tries, Lourens screwed the Reds against the Sharks, Berry het sommer die hoender se hol geruk toe hy die Leeus gehelp het teen die Blues en Reds.
I said it then, and I’ll say it now, payback is a bitch.
The Lions and Sharks must still travel and play overseas. They will feel what it feels like, and I would like to see Jannie getting away with his arguments against refs that aren’t his chommies.
This year our refs started the rot and cheated first, the Aussie and NZ refs will merely even the score

The next game is at 15:00 SA Time, in an hour and 14 minutes from this comment

    @ Gumboots:
The Bulls followed their coaches’ instructions, don’t give them the benefit of the doubt assuming they
think for themselves on the field because they don’t! 🙁
that senseless kicking goes all the way back to Ludeke
    Matfield was a passenger today
