Cheetahs lock Lood de Jager says he’ll be ready should Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer call on his services for the June Test matches.
De Jager, 21, broke his finger in the Cheetahs’ 19-8 loss to the Sharks in Durban at the weekend.

He will be sidelined for between four and six weeks, but should be ready by the time the Boks play in June.
With Franco van der Merwe (ankle), Eben Etzebeth (ankle), Pieter-Steph du Toit (knee) and Bakkies Botha (arm) all injured, Bok coach Meyer has few options for the Tests against Wales and Scotland.
Flip van der Merwe and Victor Matfield are likely to form the lock combination, but De Jager has perform adequately for the Cheetahs this season.
De Jager is eying the Cheetahs’ away game against the Stormers on May 24 to make his return.
“The timing of the injury is not good, but I’m nevertheless feeling positive. In the event of me possibly making the Bok squad, I’ll be ready,” he said.
The Cheetahs, who are currently bottom of the Super Rugby table, host the Stormers in Bloemfontein on Saturday (17:05 kick-off).
