Try Conrad Smith, Canes.
@ nga puhi:
Look at the angle he was running as well when the ball left his hand….
Let me put it to you, if a player looks back at his own tryline, and from the players perspective he is throwing the ball with his hands making a “backward motion” is it a forward pass?
The player was also running a slight angle when you threw it forward.
Hurricanes 34 / 20 Blues
That was the bonus point try
Another try Canes. Also bonus point try.
Think I have them by three, margin out, but do have them for a win.
14 Minutes to go… the difference is 14 too

Think I just heard that fat Maori lady sing…the one Fern used to hang out with…Blues are done.
Are the Blues just refusing to be competitive?

we will have to agree to disagree on the call then, to my eyes the ball travels after the pass straight then you can see the momentum kick in and the ball itself travels forward.
btw Im a Blues fan 🙂
Blues look like the NZ equivalent of the Stormers
MacroBull wrote:
they are poorly coached,. how can you expect any continuity when you make 7 changes?
Canes knock, 1m out
nortierd wrote:
thats highly offensive sir, please retract that statement.
at least the Blues can score tries 😀

Personally I am not a fan of the whole backwards movement forward momentum thing, it will alwyas lead to 50/50 calles imho because it depends on the perspective of the viewer… especially camera angles, it is frikken impossible for the camera to judge “backward movement” when there was so many angles at play, especially in that “try”.

Scrap that comment.
The Blues ran from their own tryline, the Stormers don’t even run on the opposition tryline
@ MacroBull:
The ball traveled forward, simple;
1. was thrown forward at a slight angle, by Jane, not lateral
2. Jane own speed contributed a forward component to the resultant trajectory of the ball landing 2m ahead of Jane’ position at the instance of passing?
simple

And in turn the Stormers can at least tackle 😛
Blues penalty on their own 10m line… kicked out just inside the Canes half… kak touch kick.
Then they throw in skew into the lineout.
nga puhi wrote:
Have you seen the Blues line out?
@ MacroBull:
they look at the feet position, it’s the angle is irrelevent
Blues are about as error-prone as the Bulls.
The difference is, the Bulls have ben error-prone is great attacking positions
@ Hondo:
They look at the feet to determine the hand movement?
Canes high-tackling continuously!
@ MacroBull:
fair enough. try was awarded though, all that matters I guess.
4 Minutes to go… difference is still 14

Blues penalty, quick tap and go
@ nga puhi:
but should it have been? I remember at the start of last year the Bulls had quite a few tries like that disallowed. There needs to be some consistency, even if they need to dumb down the laws I feel.
The try pretty much broke the Blues.
Another Blues penalty, this time on the halfway line… kicked to touch.
I need the Blues to score a converted try for Bru, to get very close
The Blues muck it up… what’s new!
Good Canes steal
