It is Round 8 of Super Rugby 2014 this weekend! We have 7 games in Round 8, with 2 games on Friday and 5 games on Saturday.
The Cell C Sharks have their 2nd bye weekend.
In June / July 2014 the Antipodian teams will catch up in played games with the South African counterparts, when the South African sides sit out for 1 Round.
The Combined Log will therefore be skewed for the majority of the competition and one has to question why individual countries are allowed to start such a long competition ahead of it’s rivals. In 2013 the Australian sides started a week early, but at least they had the excuse that they needed an extra week in the middle of the year to prepare for the British & Irish Lions series, which they lost.

Okay done my picks quick without much thought as usual.
Landers
Brumbies
Canes
Reds
Chiefs
Lions
Stormers
Now looking back think Bulls might scrape a win. Also Cheetahs even when not playing well during the season seem to beat big teams at home. I know they lost a big player in their 8 but Cook is a very good player. Have a feeling Cheetahs might sneak this one and so will Bulls. Anyhow my picks are in and if those teams win all the better for the saffa teams.
Go the Saffa teams for this week.
As my Sharks are not playing this week my feet will be up and no nerves as they can’t lose…..
puma @ 1
you went for the stormers?
3 @ Ashley:
Howzit Ash, How you boet? Hope well.
Yip went with Stormers. They are a tough team to beat at Newlands. I know they have not played well but have this feeling they will turn it around this week. Think I have Stormers by 4. Feel they will sneak a win here.
Also they will see how Sharks went about beating the Tahs and Beale is in for another tough, tough day on Saturday. They will mark him. I rate De Allende (sp) and Beale will face another tough as you get inside centre. De Jong too is back so all good. The only problem is Deon at Hooker still think Stormers at home are a different team. They will sneak a win here I feel. And Cheika will go home with his team sobbing hehehehehehe. Then they have Bulls to face at home as well and Jan Serfontein will give Beale another hard time..hehe. Well think that will be the following week.
3 @ Ashley:
Also have a feeling Cheetahs will surprise the Chiefs as well as Bulls will with Canes. Though there I have gone with Chiefs and Canes, but if Bulls and Cheetahs win it will not surprise me. Cheetahs play a very different game to the Bulls and just might win this one and I hope they do.
Puma
well thanks pums
went for a bulls win. not sure about the cheetahs though
6 @ Ashley:
I also think Bulls will win this one. They normally win their first game away and seem to falter in the 2nd game. Just went with the home team.

Great to see young UWC scrummie (who can also play flyhalf) Freddie Muller getting a much deserved and very belated chance to play in WP colors…
Don’t wanna put the mockers on him for this game… but I believe he is the best scrumhalf in Cape Town… may this be the start of a long road with WP/Stormers…
Good luck to him and the team…!
Bulls Hurricanes: The Bulls showed to be too slow to the Chiefs counter attacks, someone took a notice, the Bulls aren’t great travelers, so it tempts to take a wager?
Chiefs at the Cheetahs: The ‘Trevor’ IS BACK! 🙂
Even Joubert with his elegant frauds won’t help much
Neither would Brussow, welcome back my man!
Crusaders at Ellis Park: Support Jantjies
Farking time conversions for this weekend is a bit of a farkup, with Daylight Savings time changing in New Zealand and Australia at Midnight on Saturday night…
The SA Times for the games are CORRECT!
