Super RugbyIt is Round 10 of Super Rugby 2014 this weekend! We have 6 games in Round 10, with 2 games on Friday and 4 games on Saturday.

The Brumbies, Highlanders & Reds have bye weekends.

In June / July 2014 the Antipodian teams will catch up in played games with the South African counterparts, when the South African sides sit out for 1 Round.

The Combined Log will therefore be skewed for the majority of the competition and one has to question why individual countries are allowed to start such a long competition ahead of it’s rivals. In 2013 the Australian sides started a week early, but at least they had the excuse that they needed an extra week in the middle of the year to prepare for the British & Irish Lions series, which they lost.

Can I do one more Blackadder quote from your relatives?

How lucky you English are to find the toilet so amusing. For us, it is a mundane and functional item. For you it is the basis of an entire culture.”

  • 33

    @ Scrumdown:

Hummmmm now let me think!! ? 😐

  • 34

    @ Blue Bird:
    And yes Bluey,
    we are of Jock bloodlines.
    The real MacCoy.

    😉

  • 35

    @ cane:

“Hoots Man”…. Och Aye the Noo…

Nice to chat Cane McSporran and Scrumdown must dash now!

  • 36

In Series One. Baldrick was “The Brains of the Team”.
However, he devolved in a rather rapid fashion, with each series.

Series one remains the very best IMHO.

  • 37

    @ Blue Bird:
    And you too.
    😉

  • 38

    cane @ 36
just loooove baldrick with his “cunning plans” Pleasure
wonder whether baldrick and AC ain’t related? Happy-Grin

all 4 series are fantastic, have them at home and watch them again and again and again.

one of the best shows ever imho.

OK, my Bru picks are in, I went as follows:

    Canes vs Blues – Canes
    Rebels vs Force – Force
    Chiefs vs Crusaders – Chiefs
Waratahs vs Bulls – Waratahs (eish wena)
    Sharks vs Cheetahs – Sharks
Stormers vs Lions – Stormers by a whisker

  • 41

My picks are the same, only I went Rebels.
But bearing in mind it was made 4 weeks ago.
If I could pick over I would also go Force and probably also go Lions

  • 42

    41 @ nortierd:
Well, the Force has a number of injuries and 6 changes to their team… so the Rebels could do it at home.

Force have been the surprise package in 2014 though.

I hope the Bulls surprise me against the Tahs.. but Folau is back in action and the Bulls would have to cut out that flippen error-count of theirs.

Chiefs vs Crusaders should be a bloody good game to watch!

  • 43

    Oh my word.
I can just imagine all the poison pen letters being sent to SuperSport tonight.
How dare Mallet speak about Jannie and Bismarck talking too much to the refs?
Does he not follow blogs and realize that no one may comment on them in a negative way?
Mallet can expect a very stern letter from a Pam Anderson very soon

    @GBS 42
I think both games tomorrow will be good viewing.
The Canes v Blyes should be quite a run fest, weather permitting.
The Aussie derbies, especially those involving the Force this year, is also not as boring as in the past.
The first 3 matches should be good rugby, the last 3 involving our teams not so much.
The 2 derbies in SA won’t be very exciting

    44 @ smallies:

  • 47

    45 @ nortierd:
All I can say is Gooooooooooo Bulls, Cheetahs & Lions….

    Delighted

  • 48

By the way, did you guys notice we had a website outage this morning?

Apparently it was the Provo Server at the Web Host, which had huge problems, so it was not a technical glitch on our own side.

They freegin heard from me though… flokkit!

From that three, it’s only the Cheetahs that have no chance

    @ grootblousmile:
nee man wat is dan nou snaakser as oosrand afrikaans, daai jonathan laat my dink aan n ou wat saam met my op skool was, ou vere calitz as ek ou jonathan sie dan sien ek vir vere en sy vier ouer broes daar in die masonic hotel

  • 51

Whilst we had the website outage this morning, I made some more minor tweaks to the website.

    1. I moved the Facebook & Twitter Icons in the Header area over to the right a bit, to facilitate a bit better on screens with LOWER RESOLUTIONS
    2. I tweaked a bit on the line spacing in the Comment text portions
    3. I replaced our old Favicon (the little Rugby Ball Icon which appears in the URL window)
    4. I added and tweaked our Widget positions (the Sidebars on the left, right, in the header area, above the Navigation area, above the Post contents, below the Post contents and 4 of them in the Footer area)
    5. I also upgraded to WordPress 3.9… which adds extra functionality to Media and Video content

Slowly but surely the website is getting where I want it…

    50 @ smallies:

A big change in the Bulls run-on side, with Jurgen Visser suffering a foot injury and replaced by Ulrich Beyers
