Schools RugbyThere was a sudden burst of school activity over the Easter Weekend when seven school festivals were held around the country – Benoni, Grahamstown, Botha’s Hill, Port Elizabeth and three in Johannesburg.

These Easter results produced some surprises and have had a seismic effect on our Top 20, as one would expect.

Beneficiaries have been above all Menlopark and Glenwood, Monument and HTS Middelburg. Menlopark beat Grey PE, Glenwood beat EG Jansen, Monnas beat Affies and drew with Grey Bloem and the Rooi Bulle beat Affies.

Affies, who had won one and lost one before Easter come into the reckoning after a big win over Selborne. Maritzburg College and Jeppe also come into the Top 20.

It has always been our policy to reward those who were playing, which may mean that some who did not play have slipped a bit, not because of anything they did wrong but rather what others did right.
