After Round 5 of the Super Rugby season, the Stormers find themselves at the bottom of the try-scoring standings.
Having played 4 matches to date, the Stormers have scored a total of 5 tries – at an average of 1.25 per match.

Questions over the Stormers’ ability – or lack thereof – on attack have been raised for several seasons now, with the Stormers class of 2013 scoring the 2nd fewest number of tries (30 in 18 matches at an average of 1.66) behind the Force (26).
This year the Stormers scored 1 try in their opening defeat to the Lions, 1 five-pointer in beating the Hurricanes at home, 1 solo effort in their loss against the Crusaders, before picking up 2 tries in losing to the defending champions Chiefs last weekend.
The Stormers also boast a negative points differential of -40 (62 points scored, 102 points conceded) which sees them currently occupy 4th position in the South African Conference and 14th in the Overall standings.
The Blues sit top of the try-scoring charts (13) followed by the Hurricanes (12).
The Stormers’ next match is against the Australian Conference table-topping Brumbies in Canberra on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 10:40 SA time.
then again the stormers did score 3 tries in the last game… on a steep upward curve, with good attack options like de jongh coming into the team.

We might even double our try scoring to 2 tries, if De Jongh has read the “passing for dummies” book he got for Christmas

Ek weet regtig nie wanneer dinge daar by my span gaan verbeter nie.

I agree with Macrobull. Thing will get better, we will hopefully pick up some points in the next couple of games, get home, lick out wounds and push forward.
It will be one of our worst tours ever, with one of the worst draws and the worst injuries, but it’s a long season.
@ Stormersboy:
Wasn’t last years tour almost just as bad, in an “easy” tour? 😛
We picked up more points than we have now, so it was better IMO.
Still, 2 games to go.
We’ll see.
A team that wins it’s home games and picks up some points away has a good chance of making the playoffs, but it’s way too early to be thinking that way.
One thing that has always hampered our league chase is our inability to pick up bonus points on the wins that we get, something the Sharks have always been able to do well.
@ Stormersboy:
Problem with the Stormers, IF they get better and even manage to win in Australia, it will simply be worse for you guys, you have been slowly pulling that band aid off only to rub it back on thinking its ok, you can manage the pain a little bit longer.
Things will only change if the Management team is refreshed, like at the Sharks
Till then it is going to be a slow death.
This is particularly hard on us supporters as we know we need the change but will cherish any bit of good news and indulge in every victory
