The Waratahs received a timely boost ahead of their two-match tour of South Africa, with star back Israel Folau cleared to join them.
Folau stayed behind in Sydney, to see specialist – after suffering a throat injury in last Friday’s win over the Melbourne Rebels.

Although he won’t feature this week, when the Waratahs face the Sharks in Durban on Saturday, he could play against the Stormers in Cape Town next week.
He is hoping to fly out from Sydney to the Republic on Saturday.
Due to swelling in the throat from a blow he received during the Waratahs 32-8 win over the Rebels, Folau was unable to travel with the NSW team last Saturday.
However, in Thursday’s medical check, he was given the all clear.
Lucky Stormpies 🙂
Stormers luck is definitely changing.
Imagine their excitement at the prospect of seeing him live at Newlands, what a privilege for them.
If they stand behind the posts and turn around, they can even see the replays of his tries on the big screen
At least Newlands sounds like fun:

Thanks for the welcome. Nice to be able to talk rugby again.
Beware of the Stormers. We’ve travelled already. 7 home games awaiting. If you have money and you are a betting man, put it on the Stormers to play in the semi’s…at least.
