Super RugbyIt is Round 6 of Super Rugby 2014 this weekend! We have 7 games in Round 5, with 2 games on Friday and 5 games on Saturday.

The Crusaders have a bye weekend.

In June / July 2014 the Antipodian teams will catch up in played games with the South African counterparts, when the South African sides sit out for 1 Round.

The Combined Log will therefore be skewed for the majority of the competition and one has to question why individual countries are allowed to start such a long competition ahead of it’s rivals. In 2013 the Australian sides started a week early, but at least they had the excuse that they needed an extra week in the middle of the year to prepare for the British & Irish Lions series, which they lost.

So think Timo in for the first time probably covering for Odwa. Will probably cover wing and fullback. Very good to see Esterhuizen there. Big and strong like Fransie.

    Talking them up?

Coach Richard Graham said the team had travelled early to Johannesburg to get as much preparation at altitude as possible before the game against the revitalised Lions, who he feels are nothing like the franchise that was dumped from the competition last year.
    Dangerous: Lions five-eighth Marnitz Boshoff.

The Lions have won three of their five matches so far this season and defeated the Blues last weekend in Benji Marshall’s first start for the Aucklanders.

The year out certainly woken the Lions up.

Graham highlighted five-eighth Marnitz Boshoff as he discussed the new breed of Lions which bear no resemblance to the perennial wooden-spoon contenders they were before their one-year hiatus in 2013.

Flip Van der Merwe is out for the Bulls this weekend. See he has picked up a injury. Looks like Paul Willemse will start.

So thinking Victor will captain now doubt.

From the ‘Investor’s’ point of view

Stormers at the Brumbies: Brumbies aren’t that great, Stormers aren’t THAT bad the way I saw them last two matches
The Stormers’ bench is good for a garbage time tries, that’s a concern
Referee Jackson, Brumbies by 5 to 8

    Cheetahs at the Blues
Only question here is by how much?
    Blues by 15+

    The Reds at Ellis Park
The Blues got away with just about anything against the Lions, that funny try approved by Berry was a meager compensation, playing at altitude is never easy for Aussie teams and Jantjies dropped out of the match 23 which isn’t exactly a body blow by any account 😉
    Lions by 4 to 7

    The Sharks at Loftus
The Bulls should take it, Sharks’ last two victories were gifted them by two scoundrels, the Bulls only weak spots are the reserve hooker and Hougaard
    Bulls by 10 to 13

  • 10

    @ Hondo:
You Bulls supporters are seriously funny okes, whenever the Sharks win it is the ref…..

So I take it that IF by some miracle the Sharks win it can only be that there was a scoundrel of a ref that gave them the win???

Ya swear a can of the best….

    @ Sharks_forever:
haha hondo is the furthest thing from a bulls supporter you will get.
