Super RugbyIt is Round 5 of Super Rugby 2014 this weekend! We have 7 games in Round 5, with 2 games on Friday and 5 games on Saturday.

The Vodacom Bulls have a bye weekend.

In June / July 2014 the Antipion teams will catch up in played games with the South African counterparts, when the South African sides sit out for 1 Round.

The Combined Log will therefore be skewed for the majority of the competition and one has to question why individual countries are allowed to start such a long competition ahead of it’s rivals. In 2013 the Australian sides started a week early, but at least they had the excuse that they needed an extra week in the middle of the year to prepare for the British & Irish Lions series, which they lost.

I think for the Sharks this is make or break for the Sharks season imho. If Jake does some rotation, especially in the forwards, and Jake shows confidence in his renowned depth, the Sharks will grow as a team.

If Jake plays the same team week in and week out except for forced changes then belief will slip, as the pressure will mount and mount and mount. Apparently he is going to play fringe players in the vodacom cup… what the hell? I am need insisting on wholesale changes, but play Adriaanse, play Botes, play Daniel, how much would the sharks sacrifice playing these guys? I think very little.

Anyway, not my team, but it wont be good for the boks if for yet another year, guys like jannie and beast have to play almost every game, we are blessed to have Strauss at the boks so we wont lose much if we rest Bissie for one or two games there, but Heyneke should not have to rest his players.

Fark, the T20 Cricket match between the Proteas and Australia has been reduced to 7 overs a side… what a farce!

Not even worth watching in my view!

  • 3

Australia won the 7 Overs a side Cricket farce with 2 balls spare after the Blomme posted 80 / 1, which Aus chased down for the loss of 5 wickets.

Lopsie went for 21 runs in the 1st over of the Blomme bowling onslaught…

    8 @ Sharks_forever:
    Howzti bro,

Good Sarks team. Pity we lost Jordan and Deysel to injury but the repacements are just as good. Also no Odwa and he was playing well but think JPP will slot in well.

  • 10

You mean the Cell C Saaaaks! ??

  • 11

    @ Puma:
Good morning bro, yeah pity but replacements will do their thing, I did not even know Deysel was injured? for how long?

JPP will do just fine too.

  • 12

    @ Stormersboy:

Hey Junior. you ask me to call then you don’t answer??? damn Capies lol

  • 13

    8 @ Sharks_forever:

I rate Tera and Jaco so no problem there with them on the bench. As I said JPP will slot in well just SR as we know is tougher than where he has been playing in Japan. He knows the team and a bonus he knows how J aje works as a coach.

Now hope the weather is better for this Saturday. We have a early start at 5 which I prefer in Durbs.

    @ Puma

    Jaje = Jake

  • 15

    11 @ Sharks_forever:
Read yesterday on sharksworld someone said there that Deysel might not start. Has some niggle not too sure. You blog there so ask Rob as he seems to know.

  • 16

    12 @ Sharks_forever:
Trust em lot to let you down! Hehehe

  • 17

    @ Sharks_forever:
Sorry man, left my phone on silent lol.

    Will call you later?

  • 18

    @ Stormersboy:
    lol cool beans JUNIOR 😆

  • 19

    @ Sharks_forever:

Hope or scrum goes better this week.

  • 20

    @ Puma:
    Yup lol

  • 21

    @ Puma
    Or = our

  • 22

    @ Sharks_forever:
Good side. Glad Jake hasn’t tinkered with it too much. Forced changes only.
Stoked for Tera, hope he gets some game time.

  • 23

Is tick bite boy really playing?
The snake cost me lots last week by going back on his word that Lambiekins will be playing every minute of every game.
He is my designated kicker in the fantasy league and by sitting at home scratching his flea bites he cost me big time.

  • 24

    @ Puma:

Yeah Pooms, I know Jannie is not SB’s cup of tea, but every week I see our scrum weaken once Jannie is replaced.

A props first job is to do the basics right, scrum and support in lineouts, the other stuff is a bonus.

  • 25

I like that Jake is trying to turn Sbura into a 13. He’s big and strong and quick but just lacking that extra yard of pace to make him a truly fast winger.
His biggest challenge will be defending that 13 channel which isn’t easy.

  • 26

    22 @ John Galt:

Feel the same also feel great for Tera. He will come on no doubt. Good that Jaje can see the talent in him and Sithole.

  • 27

    @ nortierd:
Yes Cumbubble he is playing Overjoy @ <

  • 28

    @ Sharks_forever:
Agreed. If Jannie had to start popping up at 10 every week like Brok does for Province I think Id have heart failure.
All a tighthead needs to do is hold that scrum together.

  • 29

    Danm tpoosj again.

    Jaje. = Jake

  • 30

    @ nortierd:

Howzit John, Terra is really playing good rugga, also Glad JW is not making wholesale changes.
