Too much uncertainty here
Where is that Potgieter fella (the FH one)? is he available for selection?
And that No Epidermis skin Hougaard is running the Bulls down single hand, I would have thought it’s a time for some sanity in selection?
@ Pietman:
For sure Piet, but there are surely many more loose forwards in PTA.
On twitter there was talk about the Bulls having the most depth??

Hell these are names just off the top of my head and they have all played SR,CC,Boks,Bok u21 or VC, my point here is surely the BUlls have decent loose forwards in their ranks, and I am sure I have prolly forgotten a few names with the Sharks backup players.
Well fellas, carry on here and on the Wales / France article…. I’m just quickly doing the 6 Game Thread for tomorrow plus the Delmas Rugby Day stuff… and Sunday’s Waratahs / Force thread.
@ Sharks_forever:
There you go!
Du Toit is Pieter-Steph’s brother I think, a schoolboy wonder from Swartland High in Malmesbury, Piet-Spiere’s grandson, champion wine farmers from RiebeeckWes, went by the farm two weeks ago.
@ Hondo:
Ditto.
Potgieter in Japan, gone, GBS says.
Agreed on Hougaard, don’t rate him at all as a scrummie, wing maybe; whatever, his game has gone south since this whole unsavory Reeva/Oscar saga started.
@ Pietman:
Wou eintlik ook vir jou uitwys dat all hierdie name is well baie bekend en het groot rugby gespeel, will in brackets put next to each name what level they have played.

This is another 24 players that are either very experienced or very good up and coming players.
@ Pietman:
Pieta I am not sure if this Du toit is PSDT’s brother, but here is a link for his profile, he is like 123 KG prop and said to be as strong as an ox, he only turns 19 on the 5th of may

@ Pietman:
PSDT se broer is ook wel by die Sharks akedemy
I don’t understand the dislike of Ross, he is a huge big lump of a man being played as a fetcher. It is what the COACHNhas selected him to do.
I would think that Hougaard and Fouche have started their last game together fr a while.
Eish. Bulls letting us down on Superbru.
My oh my, what a contrast in the two coaches rooms during the games.
Slap Tjips looked like he wanted to slit his wrists with a butter knife!
The problems at the Bulls can be fixed – just get a management team in that inspires the guys, not hold them back.
Sadly it will not happen this year.
Jimmy Stonehouse attitude is what they need.
463 @ Gena_ZA:
Agree, but Jimmy is too outspoken for the ultra conservative Bulls. I don’t think he would fit into their culture.
I really hoped the Lions would utilise him, but in their “infinite” wisdom deemed him surplus to requirements.
IMO there is no place for trumped up ego’s in the coaching and management of a Super Rugby squad.
If a team fails to get it right them suffer (and should) as the Lions did last year.
Sadly the Lions think they can improve on 2012 with the same mind set and quality of personnel both on and off the field.
I also expected the Bulls to get things right yesterday, but looking at things now, one could have seen during last years CC already that they don’t have the formula and right players anymore to continue with the game plan that brought SR success. Maybe they are trying too hard to fit a round peg in a square hole
I can’t believe I actually drove down to watch this drivel- in the rain. Sure the rain influenced the game a bit, but people please, this is not working. Change is needed especially at flyhalf and hooker.
On the bright side, our scrums are pretty much the surprise package this year, so far.
And in other news, SARU has announced the following quota system changes are to be implemented with immediate effect:
Western Province to field at least five coloured players at all times
The Sharks are to field five Indians
The Lions must have five Afrikaans-speaking players
and
The Bulls must have five rugby players
Pietman
Howzit man
Long time since the super rugby site early 2000?
Yep, a strong Bulls team is essential to a healthy SA rugby, what I would have done to salvage the wreck is:
drive Hougaard out of town, pronto
bring JL Ppotgieter on as the FH, Pollard as his appie
Find where the hell has Vermaak gone to and bring him back now
Send a research party to find Gary Botha?
Stick with Flip as the captain and make it a fixure
It surely won’t make the current state of the Bulls worse 🙁
Loosehead @ 460
It reflects some anxiety in Ost Pretoria about Ross established himself in Steggie’s place in the line up, nothing else
Same with the way Lambie is bashed repeatedly here; no doubt they feel Morne Styen’s Boks lineup spot is challenged?
🙂
465 @ nortierd:
Personally I think we are trying to kick it in a hole from point blank range. And going to fetch the peg the rebounded way into the distance and proceeding to find our strongest biggest guy to drive it through with force.
