The Lions medical staff have released an injury update, following the Lions’ 20 / 21 victory over the Cheetahs on Saturday.
Preceding the match, during Friday’s captain’s run training session, scrumhalf Michael Bondesio sustained a grade two quad strain. He will be out of action for approximately six weeks.
Meanwhile, Lionel Mapoe strained his right hamstring during Saturday’s match in Bloemfontein and will also be out for up to six weeks.
The two players currently recovering from shoulder injuries, namely Anthony Volmink and Elton Jantjies continue to make solid progress and will be considered for this weekend’s Vodacom Cup warm-up game against the Pumas.
Two of the Lions’ serial sick notes!
And to think the Lions let Tiaan Meyer move to Griquas! The mind boggles.
perhaps a chance for Stokkies to stake a claim?
