The Golden Lions Rugby Union is pleased to welcome Jonsson Workwear, Africa’s leading workwear brand, on board as an official associate sponsor.
Media Release
The agreement, which sees Jonsson Workwear partner with the GLRU for at least the next two years, will see the company gain exposure on the team jerseys for the Super Rugby and Currie Cup competitions.
Jonsson Workwear has also taken up extensive branding opportunities at Ellis Park Stadium. The brand will provide workwear to all GLRU staff and players in future.
Jonsson Workwear’s investment in South African rugby has been a longstanding and expanding venture.
The brand is currently the title sponsor of the Jonsson College Rovers, a leading South African club rugby side, encouraging the development of the game from club level.
Moreover, they previously sponsored the GWK Griquas, supporting the team’s progression through the Currie Cup tournament over several years.
It is now with great enthusiasm that Jonsson Workwear has teamed up with the GLRU – taking their investment in local rugby to the next level.
The Jonsson Workwear team is thrilled by the new partnership and is looking forward to the prospects that lie ahead. Over the past 15 years, the company has experienced exponential growth, resulting in opportunities to form strategic partnerships with some of South Africa’s most influential brands.
The team at Jonsson believe that this mutually beneficial relationship with the GLRU is one that will push their brand awareness to an entirely new level.
The Lions’ core values of pride, integrity and excellence are values that the Jonsson brand strives to follow in all that it does, and the company are enormously excited for the future with this collaboration.
GLRU CEO Manie Booysen expressed his gratitude towards Jonsson for their support and is looking forward to a long and fruitful partnership with the company.
“It is wonderful to have a company of this calibre put such trust in the Lions brand, as we work through our current re-building phase,” Booysen shared.
“We believe that both our brands will benefit immensely from this partnership and we are grateful for Jonsson’s support during such trying economic times.
“We are very excited for what this partnership will bring in future.”
If we can’t beat the opposition at least we can kick their shins stukkend with some decent quality safety boots.
This company has just opened a new massive warehouse alongside the R21 in Kempton. Why then go and sponsor the Lions and not the Valke?
Maybe I’m too idealistic?
