Springbok flyhalf Johan Goosen should be ready to play for the Cheetahs when they host the Bulls in Bloemfontein on Friday night.
Goosen went for a scan after slightly injuring his arm in the Cheetahs’ 21 / 20 home defeat to the Lions at the weekend.

The scan results showed no tear or any further injury to his arm.
He was back at training on Monday but did not participate in contact sessions as a precautionary measure. He practiced his goal-kicks while his team-mates had a go at each other.
In other injury news, scrumhalf Shaun Venter (ankle), wing Raymond Rhule (hamstring) and prop Trevor Nyakane (leg) also missed Monday’s training session.
Venter and Rhule are expected to be back in training on Tuesday, while Nyakane may need a bit more time.
Kick-off at the Free State Stadium is at 19:10 on Friday.
Just wrap him up in cotton wool far another year.
How long will Johan Goosen last in the game?
Anybody for bets?

That’s one bet I won’t take. Their is no way HM can do any long term planning for 2015 with Goosen in mind for the WC. As much as everyone will love to see what he can do at 10 for the Boks if given an extended run, it just doesn’t seem like his body will allow it. My guess is that Steyn and Lambie will be the best bet, and let’s see who might come through in the next 18 months or so as a 3rd option, perhaps a Boshoff, Swiel or Zeilinga?
