Super RugbySuper Rugby is already in Round 2, with the Antipodion teams also taking part this weekend. We have 7 games in Round 2, with 2 games on Friday, 4 games on Saturday and 1 game in the early hours (SA Time) on Sunday morning.

The Melbourne Rebels have a bye weekend, right at the outset, but of course Bye Points fall away in 2014.

In  June / July 2014 the Antipion teams will catch up in played games with the South African counterparts, when the South African sides sit out for 1 Round.

The Combined Log will therefore be skewed for the majority of the competition and one has to question why individual countries are allowed to start such a long competition ahead of it’s rivals. In 2013 the Australian sides started a week early, but at least they had the excuse that they needed an extra week in the middle of the year to prepare for the British & Irish Lions series, which they lost.

(The Weekend Teams are also up under the Main Menu, Super Rugby, 2014, Weekend Teams.)

Oh, and just on the side… bear with the slow load speeds for a while, there are issues inside our Web Host server, where techies are working now to resolve it.

Not R-T or my fault…just one of those things the Web Host has to resolve.

Maar nou ja Mnr Potgieter het ons ook laasjaar in daai kampie geplaas, Sharks het juis nou daai meester brein om hulle tot die laaste minuut te laat glo. Sterkte My ou Bulle. Sien julle is darem 4de keuse.

    @ superBul:

All this predictions count for nothing Super, it is as proved a long long tournament, much water to cross over the bridge

  • 70

I see Spies is out and Vleis in, actually a blessing for the Bulls if you ask me.

  • 71

Sharks have announced their team. Jake has kept faith in the side that beat the Bulls and is exactly the same team as last week.

    Go Sharks….. Happy-Grin

  • 72

Sharks team added to the Article

    @ Snoek:
    he he

  • 75

@ Snoek: With that in mind Lions can top the log after the weekend matches. LOL

  • 76

Quite a number more sides added – Blues, Highlanders, Reds & Hurricanes

  • 77

Re:Canes, I thought Conrad Smith is on sabbatical?
Re:Blues, seems like after losing all their warm up games Kirwan doesn’t quite trust Benji Marshall to start

  • 78

Good, Quinton de Kock to make his debut

  • 79

    @ nortierd:
Great let’s hope the young guy gets a descent run in the test 11, and they must start playing AB @ 4, faf is not the correct guy for such an important position.

  • 80

    79@skrumsaam

Agree 100% with you. And they can give Quinton the gloves as well.
I hope he does well, if they stick with him he can be just as good and exciting as Gilchrist.

  • 81

Much better looking Test team. Doesn’t guarantee success I know but at least gives us a better chance.
JP is a better spinner than Robbie, Parnell grew up in PE and knows the conditions better than most and Alviro has been battling for form for some time now.

    @ nortierd:
De Kock isn’t keeping this match. Hes solely focussing on his batting apparently.

  • 82

what does the pitch look like, last time i heard it was a green wicket and i see Biff decided to bat first.

  • 83

    @ Scrumsaam:
Pitch is dry apparently. Bit of moisture in the air but should clear up later.
Clarke says he would have batted first as well.

Biff doesn’t want to fall into the trap that he did last test.

  • 84

    @81JG
Yep, but batting at 7 and calling it focusing solely on batting is a bit of an oxymoron.
I think AB enjoys keeping too much to give the gloves up, and his average as batsman/keeper is very good. I think AB will make the switch to regular fielder much easier and more successful than Quinton, he was brilliant before they converted him to keeper.
I’m just glad to see Quinton in the side, and he now needs to make this count and grab his chance

  • 85

    @ John Galt:
Just hope it’s the correct decision, and that the top order are prepared to guts out the new ball. 20/20 cricket totally killed test cricket batsmen can’t just stand around for a few hours anymore.

  • 86

    85 @ Scrumsaam:
There’s a Cricket article for you guys… see you there

  • 87

  • 89
