The New Zealand leg of the HSBC Sevens World Series, in Wellington, was played this weekend.
The South African Blitzbokke started their bid to win a 3rd Tournament in a row in fine fashion, by beating Wales 26 / 0 and beating Portugal 27 / 5.
The Blitzbokke’s next challenge was England, and the game was won by England, by 19 / 5. Both England and South Africa advance to the Cup Quarters, England played Samoa and the Blitzbokke played Australia.
New Zealand comfortably beat France, 47 / 0 in the last game of Day 1, after earlier losing to Fiji, but also advanced to the Cup Quarters, where they played against Canada.
At the 2nd Day of the tournament, New Zealand and South Africa advanced all the way to the final, with Fiji beating England in the 3rd place play-off.
New Zealand won the final by 21 / 0 against the South African Blitzbokke, capitalizing on mistakes and shutting the Blitzbokke out in the 2nd half.

201 @ MacroBull:
Very true bud, hope we learn from this for the next tourney, as we had been doing quite well so far this year.
240 @ grootblousmile:
Yes they should have joined us a very long time back had always told them to come over here. Good to see the good okes coming over. Going to make this year on RT even better. Tell them to join our Superbru pool as well.
Did you know that Rye who is Grumpy here is 75 years old? He is the oldest blogger here now, but one of the most decent bloggers ever. A real gentleman and a Shark of course….
242 @ Puma:
Well, we did the right thing, we did not solicit participation whilst Voldy was going.
They are welcome here and YES, they should join our SuperBru Pools!
Old is in the eye of the beholder…. you’re as old as you act.
Grumpy is a nice bloke, from what I’ve seen here.
We’ll have to make some money here on R-T, selling Advertising space, I want to move the R-T website over to a fully dedicated server in 2014… and that costs in the vicinity of 2K a month.
Getting busier here, as we have already done dramatically so in January 2014, will put some stress on the server resources where we are currently hosted.
If we have a busy Six Nations Day, as far as comments go, we will go over 300 000 comments here on R-T today….
How far we have come, how far we still plan to go!
The sky is the limit!
243 @ grootblousmile:
For sure boet age is just a number, it is how you feel.
Okay have to go out for a bit back later or when the rugby is on next week. Can’t wait for Super Rugby to start feels like years and years it has been on.
Cheers all catch up later.
245 @ grootblousmile:
Forgot about the 6 Nations will blog during those games later. Have joined our bru pool but need a lot of catching up to do there I see.
Okay just saw Hurrican leave a post on keo and told him to join us here as then we will have most of the kiwi bloggers on this site. Just hope they don’t delete my post after putting up that message…
Get Hurricane to do some articles gbs on the New Zealand teams this coming Super Rugby once he is over here. Also get Rugby Princess back as well, she had a great sense of humour and a really nice kiwi lady.
Okay catch up later.
Just got home. I have contacted UFO and he said he will pop in later…

248 @ Puma:
249 @ Gumboots:

I sent you a mail. IAAS is trying to register but it kicks him out. I sent you a mail with his addie.
A good guy from Keo…
249 @ Gumboots:
Got your mail regarding IAAS, mailed you and him back, waiting for info to do a manual registration for him.
Geez. I thought for a few minutes I’d had a near death experience and was seeing my past flash before my eyes.
As it was, it’s just the demise of a (Rugby) pure evil entity that has caused the decent particles that were present there to transfer across the ether to our Rugby “home”.
Welcome all former Minions of the dreaded Voldy, both those I know and those I don’t.
253 @ Scrumdown:
Heehehehe
@ Scrumdown:

255 @ Gumboots:

257 @ Gumboots:
Good to see you all here.
Let the live game comments flow. We gotta keep that BB supporter from the other side of the boerewors curtain happy somehow.
254 @ grootblousmile:
I was going to try to get that notebook of my daughter’s to you tomorrow but now have to go to Midvaal to measure a job up. Stupid idiots just realised they have an Audit from Meat Hygiene on Wed and their plant drawings have never been updated after all the mod’s they’ve done in the last year.
I think I’ll have to get it to you one evening in the week.
@ Scrumdown:
BB is that Brigette Bardot!! 😆
@ grootblousmile:
I think the nic is IAAS… I see a name there…
259 @ Scrumdown:

268 @ IAAS:
Welcome, Hangman!
@ grootblousmile:
