Former Springbok rugby player Christian Stewart has been charged with allegedly assaulting the boyfriend of his ex-wife.
Stewart, 47, briefly appeared in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

He allegedly assaulted Alan Mewett three weeks ago in Hout Bay.
Police spokesperson, Frederick van Wyk, confirmed that a charge had been laid against Stewart.
“A charge of theft and assault with the aim to do serious harm is being investigated by Hout Bay Police,” said Van Wyk.
The theft charge relates to a missing cellphone.
The case has been postponed until 15 April.
The former Western Province centre played three Tests for the Springboks in 1998 and also played 14 times for Canada between 1991 and 1995.
