@ grootblousmile:
Nee is reg, doen jou ding bruvva, ons sal aankap hier met die kommentare terwyl jy groot dinge doen agter die skerms…
Oh vlok. Lions CEO used the dreaded phrase “Re-Building phase” in the press conference.
Only been going on for about 1 and a half decades now. (Sounds better that 15 years)
@ Scrumdown:
I am just happy they got a sponsor. They’ve been down and out for to long lions need some good news every now and then.
Blomme 107 / 2 after 40 overs
@ Scrumsaam:
I’d prefer it if you could fax the Sharks coach down to Cape Town . . .
@ Sharks_forever:
haha but the difference is that sometimes theres a build up and sometimes there is no expectations at all.
@ GoBokkeAndIreland: Stormers must just make Brendan Venter an offer for the director of rugby position then we might see an improvement.
153 @ Scrumsaam:
This sponsorship ONLY for CURRIE CUP, not SR.
So effectively still in the excrement for the present.
Lions should get Stock, Aitken and Waterman as their sponsor.
They were the agents for Rick Ashley and Tiffany etc. in the 80’s
After last weeks win over the Cheetahs, the Lions will be an even bigger one hit wonder than Rick Ashley

geez averaging 70 with a strike rate of 24

Now that’s a good idea! I like and respect him alot – seems 1 of the few forward-thinking guys in rugby.

Blomme 123 / 2 at Drinks, Day 1
@ nortierd:
Aitken? Related to Andrew maybe? If memory serves Andrew is a financial boffin in Oz nowadays.
O moedertjie, first delivery after Drinks… Faf out!
SA 123 / 3 after 43.1 overs
@ grootblousmile:
Ai tog, jammer van Faf man. Hulle was op n lekker wicket nou, jammer hulle kon nie voortbou nie.
165 @ grootblousmile:
Faffed that up didn’t he?
167 @ Scrumdown:
Completely!
Pietman wrote:
Didn’t know he was in Aus
If memory serves, he studied for actuary, so he should do well
Still, when it was 11 / 2 early, I would have gladly taken 123 / 3
Faf & Elgar added more than a TON.

Yep, feite
This wicket is much more docile than SuperSport Park. Amla probably lost his wicket more due to being a bit scared/ careful of Johnson after the 1st test than anything else
@ nortierd:
Yip, quite a whiz kid he was, from his student days, cum laude student, like Kobus Visagie, did B.Acc(Hons) at Maties, articled in Cape Town, and went to Oz and made a bundle, I read somewhere. I think Andrew was from Natal originally, but he was bloody good flanker in the Francois Louw mould, just quicker than Flo, imo.
@Pietman
He was a very handy player to have. Selbourne Boome was very similar, played good rugby, but took his studies and future after rugby more serious than the game itself. Hulle koppe was reg aangeskroef
@ GoBokkeAndIreland:
After what he did to province in the final we have to like and respect him.
@ Scrumsaam:
He and Mallett are the 2 SA rugby guys I rate the highest. Think the 2 of them together, could accomplish great things.
OK fellas…
I need to go replace one of the Blik Met Wiele’s back tyres… did not even have 13 000 km on the old one when apparently I hit some spyker or metal thingy.. and then went too far on the run-flat… so no choice but to replace it.
Bloody Run-flat 18″ 255 wide, Bridgestone Potenza tyre… not cheap at all. best price I can get is at my SupaQuick connection, R 4 400.00 per tyre!
Also need some Kameeltjies, Prestic and a doppie or two.
Chat a bit later.
@ GoBokkeAndIreland:
Those 2 can replace all 3 of the Stormers coaches and still do a better job, but somehow management love AC doesn’t matter how bad the team plays, he’s job is save.
Thing i like about Mallet is he’s straight forward, if someone plays cr@p he will mention it.
@ Scrumsaam:
Agreed. Toetie’s got a job for life, it seems! Think speaking his mind, is what got Mallett in kak with SARU! But I think in this day and age, you need people who are going to be straightforward.
@ GoBokkeAndIreland:
Mallet got to much of experience in the game to sit on the supersport panel, surely one of the franchise’s can use his knowledge.
@ Scrumsaam:
I agree – but if SARU have a say in things, I think he’d never work in SA again! Which is criminal. We need people with his and Brendan Venters mindset, RUNNING rugby in this country!
