    Aus 141 / 1 after 37 overs at Tea – Day 4

I think the Blomme declared to low.

    @ Bullscot:
BS mate it is not about who to leave out, I have no qualm about Parnell who infact is also in a good vein of form, But there arwe other selections like Rory Kleinveldt who has no form at all and so too one or two others,

Fact is in SA we do not reward form, so unless you are an existing Protea or From a Cape based side or a player of colour you have no chance. Surely you must select on form????

Abbott a matter of months ago filled in when another player got injured and for example ripped through PAkistan like they weren’t even on the park, then he gets dropped?? not even good enough to make the squad.

I can tell you that most of the Dolphins success this season is due to Abbott and Miller, and even when Abbott was not taking the most wickets? the [ressure he put on from his side helped the other bowlers take wickets.

  • 393

    Slips are standing to far
So another catch chance lost by the Proteas.

I must say I question Smiths captaincy more and more, he makes a lot of bad calls, does not attack when he should or vice versa, Micheal Holding was alluding to the same thing earlier

  • 394

    Atlast a wicket, Morkel strikes

  • 395

    Daar kuk hy!!!

  • 396

    Aussie 153 / 3 after 44 overs!!

    Whoop!

  • 397

I am still busy catching up on all yesterday’s doings here on Rugby-Talk and on Rugby-Talk’s Facebook page ect….

Still also need to do the SuperBru Logs, Results ect…

All I know is I had a great Super Rugby Bru weekend, just of course getting the Lions / Stormers game horribly wrong.

Think I have moved to No 1 on our Rugby-Talk Super Rugby 2014 Bru Pool… where I naturally belong, of course!

  • 398

    Another wicket!

    Michael Clarke, Aussie Captain, gone!

… and there goes another one!!

    Aussie 156 / 5

Whoop, whoop… 2 balls, 2 wickets! Dale Steyn!!

“Fact is in SA we do not reward form, so unless you are an existing Protea or From a Cape based side or a player of colour you have no chance. Surely you must select on form????”

There is a reason why there are so many Cape based players in the Protea team.

Fact is they have dominated SA cricket over the last few years.

They have for example just thrashed a full strength Dolphins team … bowled them out for 84 runs in their second innings… and that is without star bowlers like Steyn, Kleinfeldt, Beuran Hendrics and Robbie P.

Rookie fast bowler Travis Muller and the new spinner Dane Piedt each took 5….

Such bowling by rookie players gives perspective to Abbott’s efforts this weekend on a bowler friendly pitch.

    Thank you very much.

If the Stormers continue the way they started I might not have much to say over the next few months but lets hope for a miracle 🙂
