@ Gumboots:
I think McLaren deserves to be there more than JP “20 runs” Duminy.
SA44 / 2 after 12 overs.
I suppose I better head into the shower, and get to the shops… need to buy stuff to repair / replace a seal on the pool filter, need some odd plumbing fittings for another waterpipe and of course I need Kameeltjies and Condensed Milk too!
Chat a bit later.
@ MacroBull:
In this team JP takes the spinning role, so no place for McLaren.
@ Gumboots:
I know that’s what they always say, but he does nothing other than give our seamers a breather, but as his batting record of late suggests, he is only in the side for bowling. So might as well pick another bowler.
Mights as well pick Robbie P who has averaged double what Duminy has in the last year with the bat.
@ MacroBull:
😆
Totsiens Faf…
Ozzie gave Faf a nice send off too…
Can’t wait for the rugby to begin…
@ Gumboots:Me too! Pity Bakkies won’t be watching though; he’ll be watching that NH rubbish…
@ BrumbiesBoy:
What happened to old Bakkies? He must be devastated that his mate Poppa is no longer around… 😆
Really disappointed in the cricket. Hope we better in PE.
@ Puma:
Jeez Johnson putting the fear of God into our players… Nearly took McLaren’s head off…
253 @ Gumboots:
I know he did the same in 2009 when they toured here in the first test. Thought we could handle him better by now. We miss Kallis for sure. Hope we can be better in PE we are far better than this.
253 @ Gumboots:
Think I will give watching the rest of the cricket a miss and wait for the rugby to start… 🙂 As we are totally rubbish in this test.
Blomme 132 / 5 at Tea, Day 4.
Auusies are halfway through the SA batting lineup already.
This Test is only heading ONE way.
@ Puma:
I’m multi tasking and have to agree with you. Under cooked, over confident and totally outplayed in every aspect of the game. The catching of the Ozzies has been superb…
257 @ Gumboots:
What the hell has happened to this team? In 2012 we whipped them totally and England now we looking pathetic. Could it be that Kirsten has left? Or Australia has just got better, but surely we not as bad as this or are we?
258 @ Puma:
Complacency is a dangerous animal… as the Sharks might see later today as well…
259 @ grootblousmile:
Doubt we will be like our cricket brothers. We have not underestimated the Bulls I am sure of that. They are better side than most think. Jake will have drilled that into the players for sure.
@ Puma:
Australia have improved – but more importantly they have studied each of our players and have found them out. We haven’t done the same homework, especially with Johnson. I think our new coach is a softy and too buddy buddy with the players. You need a Jennings or Kirsten to keep the guys honest. The first test in any series sets up the series and what I see – I don’t like. There was a lack of confidence, especially winning the toss and fielding – it gives the advantage to the opposition. We keep on selecting out of form players and expect them to find form in a test match. This is not going to happen. Abbott is our form bowler, yet can’t make the team. De Kock is on fire as well. Let’s bring in some youngsters with the senior players. They can only do better than what is on view in this test…
@ Puma:
I also like what is happening in Durban with the Dolphins. Klusner is selecting form players and drops anyone not performing. I think we need someone like him in the national team set-up. The Dolphins have few big names but as a team they are dynamic… I have enjoyed them this season and they deservedly won the 20/20 trophy…
261 @ Gumboots:
I agree with you Bill and it is a shame we have crumbled from the high under Kirsten to this rubbish we are seeing dished up here. I hope somehow we can bounce back in PE. Then that is not our favourite ground either. Have to wait and see.
262 @ Gumboots:
I have not watched too much domestic Cricket this year Bill, but did watch the 20/20 final.
262 @ Gumboots:
Going for a swim as it is damn hot here. Back later when the Rugby starts. Catch up later bud.
Well, McLaren is gone too.
SA 140 / 6
4 Wickets to go, 341 runs behind
@ grootblousmile:
He softened him up nicely and then nailed him…
267 @ Gumboots:
Fark, Johnson has been the difference in this Test… and the sloppy missed catches against Oz in their 2nd innings.
Oz fielding has been as sharp as humanly possible in contrast.
AB gone too… a good catch but we are folding like a pack of cards…
Another sharp catch, AB de Villiers also gone!
SA 151 / 7
3 Measly wickets to go.
