237 for 4. Like I said at the start of the day. You win the toss and bat 9 times out of 10. The only time you bowl first is if it is very overcast and the ball will do something. Clarke was shocked when he was told he was batting. We now are going to chase the game, unless we get really lucky and get a batch of wickets fast…
Smith made the call and has to live with it, sure he didn’t do it to be “funny”
At 30/40 odd for 3 it looked like a wise move but as things stand now, definably not
@ Gena_ZA:
We do this regularly in one day and 20/20 cricket as well. It is like he is hoping more than making a good cricketing decision. We could still come back and wrap up the innings and win the game, but he needs to be more confident in his decisions. It is looking so easy. Let’s hope they are tiring and play rash shots or the new ball makes a difference.
Faf likes to set a score, so does AB in the shorter formats, most captains do it in those formats. Guess whether and dew can affect it on the day
But I agree with your sentiments
@ Gena_ZA:
Weather plays a role in the shorter format of the game, especially with Duckworth Lewis – but similar to the longer format. You bowl first if it is overcast and the ball will swing. Anyways it is all spilt milk now and we are going to be chasing the game and will have to play well throughout… This pitch has been a peach from the beginning so let’s hope it plays like this when we bat…
yup, hopefully not at the start of day 3 only
gosh if aus bat at least till tea tomorrow we will be dead.
als loop verkeerd vandag. hoe de donner kies die bulle wees jacque dup?
dai ou kon laas jaar nie een keer voluit hardloop nie
@ MacroBull:
It is a batting paradise. Expect a very big score here. If we don’t make inroads quickly tomorrow morning it will be a long test match… Good luck chaps…
@ Gumboots:
Yes I think day two and three are usually very good for batting.
What’s wrong with dale? the commentators kept mentioning how he has been under the weather.
Gosh translating these posts is entertaining.

Stem saam – daar moet beter in Blou Bul land wees as daardie outjie…

Nee ou maat, dinge gaan te rof hier.

Good though we let them off the hook when we had them for 97/4 was hoping we took another few quick wickets then. This is a challenge now and hope we don’t lose any wickets today.
and we off to a bad start – 18/2 now
As I mentioned yesterday. Smith was reluctant to bat as they were worried about Johnson. Now he has his tail up and we are folding like a rusty gate. Already three down…
Yeah you said it 4 times now thanks
Point taken
Jeeez, bad start by the Blomme!
SA 23 / 3 after 7.1 overs!
28 GBS – always add the VAT 🙂
We should have taken advantage of the good batting pitch yesterday and batted first. This is a massive climb for us now. Not damn sure what Smith was thinking when he chose to bowl first at Centurion you always bat first.
@ Gena_ZA:
Where did I say they were worried about Johnson? I thought this is a blog – obviously it is not…\
Fark!!!
Tried getting tickets for Saturday. Sold out… You snooze you lose…
