McLaren first over a maiden, very happy they included him
I differ slightly with this series and this first game only.
Put them in and trust your bowlers to put them on the back foot, thus creating huge pressure from day one in the first test.
This is not a turning wicket so betting 4th will not be a nightmare.
Also remember what we achieved in our last match against India while chasing
16.3
Morkel to Marsh, no run, dropped but it would have been a stunner from Amla in the gully. Marsh played a strong cut, didn’t quite keep the ball down and Amla flung himself to his left with one hand but the ball wouldn’t stick
@ cane:Now now, that’s no way to talk about your “cuzzies”, mate!
How’re you doing, nice to see you over here!
McLaren to Doolan, OUT, pulled to midwicket! What a boost for South Africa shortly before lunch. Doolan, having worked so hard and so watchfully, saw a shorter delivery and his eyes lit up at the scoring chance. Went for the pull, couldn’t keep it down and found Peterson at midwicket. Perhaps wasn’t as short as Doolan initially thought. Reward for a probing spell form McLaren
Three wickets at lunch not too bad. We need to put pressure on the middle order now and get Clarke cheaply. The wicket is getting easier and easier. Centurion does take spin from around the afternoon on day three. Lyons is not a bad spinner either. We need to keep the pressure up…
83/3 at lunch
desperate for clarkes wicket
@ BrumbiesBoy:
And you too Bumbie.
I think I was the last person to ever make a post on Keo.
Keo is dead.
Long live RT.
hear hear
Big wicket… Clarke gone…
@ cane:
Welcome Abel!!!
Only turned on tv now. Hell what a brilliant start by us… 🙂
Come on let us get Marsh now.
33.5
Steyn to Clarke, OUT, banged in, Clarke hooks… and he’s gone, caught at deep fine leg! Steyn is pumping his fist repeatedly towards the ground, his face a rictus of pleasure-pain. Australia’s captain has fallen, the short ball does for him, South Africa had set up a clear plan of attack and Clarke wasn’t able to resist, couldn’t keep on top of the stroke and a top edge flew a long way up, Philander had to wait for it but made no mistake
MJ Clarke c Philander b Steyn 23 (45b 2×4 0x6) SR: 51.11
39 @ cane:
Yip long live RT. Great site this Cane.
Are you getting any of the cricket?
23 @ cane:
Drinks! One of these guys and Haddin and then the tail…
Helloooooooooooooooo
Back from yet another successful marketing meeting for Rugby-Talk.
Fellas, R-T is going to cook on gas, and GBS is going to make the tills roll from something he absolutely loves doing…. now what can be better than that?
To Cane, BrumbiesBoy, Gummyberry Juice, Atlas and all the fellas who joined us recently from Voldy, I like your positive attitude and the way you are embracing R-T as your new rugby home. Let me say this, your rugby blogging experience has now changed much for the better and this community has it’s wheels screwed on right!
Australia 138 / 4 after 46.1 overs
@ grootblousmile:
Look forward to ‘cook on gas’! 🙂
As I said earlier – you win the toss and bat first. South Africa one of the few countries in the world that give up the best batting conditions and bat last on a wearing pitch. Australia now cashing in on the good wicket. We are going to need some luck to take a wicket or two…
I see there’s some Rugby news out…
Bulls team for Saturday, some warm-up teams from New Zealand and Aussie announced… and other titbits.
Will place articles on now… hang in there.
175 for 4. Score starting to take shape. We need to get wickets and fast…
my liewe fok. kies die bulle ross, jacque engelbregcht, kruger en greyling..
my bubble is sommer gebars.

Quite a few new Rugby Articles on!
Australia 206 / 4 after 64 overs.
Really, really need a wicket or 2 now!
Still 12 overs before the New Ball is due….
Pitch and ball is now so easy to navigate….
