Scrumhalf Sarel Pretorius is back and will play in the Cheetahs’ pre-season game against the Pumas in Parys on Saturday, according to reports.
Sport24
Pretorius went under the knife after last year’s Currie Cup after injuring his shoulder in their final league game against the Blue Bulls.
He missed their semi-final against the Sharks and also sat out this year’s warm-up games against Shimlas, NMMU and the Kings.
However, this week coach Naka Drotské will be able to call on both his top scrumhalves, Pretorius and Shaun Venter.
According to Drotské, Venter – who himself returned from a shoulder injury last weekend – will play 50-60 minutes against the Pumas, with Pretorius getting between 20 and 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, Springbok fullback Willie le Roux – who fell on his shoulder during their first warm-up game against Shimlas – will again be rested.
Sarel should really get hid Bok colours this year.
