Hello GBS that is a really good achievement by him, he seems to be doing so well, our version of Gilchrist
19 @ Bullscot:
4 x 100’s in 16 batting innings by him.
Not even 21 yet and he’s got 4 International ODI TONS to his name.
Why in all hell they dropped him for the upcoming 5-Day Test series is beyond me… Tsolokile getting the nod above him.
He’s on a roll, I would have fast-tracked him into Test Cricket!
A pity AB got out when he did and so many wickets fell in the end, score could have been a good bit higher, although quite good after being 28/3 Centurion a small ground with a lovely batting wicket and quick outfield bowlers are going to have to bowl well here.
20 @ grootblousmile:
Most definitely GBS his confidence must be sky high at the moment so this is the time to play him in the test, he has shown he can blast the ball but looking at the stats for this SA innings it looks like he also has composure as he had wickets falling all around him in the beginning so he is not just a pinch hitter that will be found out in test cricket. What is his keeping ability, that could have been a factor as its crucial I think that at test level you are a top keeper first then a good batsman.
22 @ Bullscot:
I think he’s a better keeper than AB de Villiers, great ability, great energy too… great eye for the ball… reaches wide both sides of the wicket behind the stumps
I can see the rain interfering in this match….
22 @ Bullscot:
As our resident weather fundi… what’s up with the weather here in SA (Gauteng)… we’ve had NO summer yet, it’s bloody cold, it rains EVERY day?
Our turf is saturated, water not even filtering away easily anymore…
Ag kak… ground covers are being brought on… no rain yet but apparently a thunderstorm on the way
24 @ grootblousmile:
And then you call UK mud island Looks like a lot of moisture around with rain and thunder producing systems in your area the last while, really don’t want to bore you guys with anything more explanatory than that.
26 @ Bullscot:
What’s more, we’ve had a lot of hail… and about 3 or 4 weeks ago monster hail (tennis ball size in areas) over a very large area! Lots of damage caused, including here at my office.
Even hailed again a bit today.
Our pool has overflowed on a few occasions… has never happened before!
25 @ grootblousmile:
unfortunately don’t seem to be able to find the links to radar lately that there used to be freely available to have a look at for in detail very short term assessment. A really good network of these with great functionality had been built up over there but now I think its locked up and am not prepared to subscribe to it, the joys of making a state funded institution also a commercially driven one…
The rain has arrived at SuperSport Park…
27 @ grootblousmile:
Yeah I had seen pictures of that hail and the damage, hope the damage wasn’t too bad for you
