SA not looking too shabby at present.
India 51 / 2 after 24 overs
Lunch – Day 1
India 70 / 2, 27 overs bowled
Cricket on a rugby site, now that is out of the box thinking and a welcome addition to my holiday state this week.
3 @ Alles wat mal is:
This time of the year we have to take it a bit wider.
Many rugby supporters are cricket supporters too, having been the popular winter and summer sports in their younger years.
India 91 / 2 after 36.2 overs
Blomme need to start taking wickets… and soon!
Wicket!
India 113 / 3 after 42.4 overs
141/3. Looks like India have found some batting form.
I hear that the Sharks are in negociations with Looke Watsen.
@ Loosehead:
I have read that too. Sounds Like him and Jake the Snake have made amends.
8 @ Loosehead:
9 @ Lion4ever:
I said the following about it on another article here on Rugby-Talk:
Luke Watson to the Sharks… hell they have enough looseforwards and scrum inspectors as is!
Without Luke, let’s look at the Sharks situation…
Marcell Coetzee, Keegan Daniel, Willem Alberts, Jean Deysel, Tera Mthembu and I think Ryan Kankowski probably too, plus some upcoming youngsters. That is already 6 plus some youngsters!
So where will Luke fit in and who would he be able to logically usurp or replace?
The regular loose trio would probably be Coetzee (openside), Alberts (blindside), Keegan Daniel (No 8), with Deysel on the bench and / or Tera on the bench.
If the Sharks are indeed looking at Luke, they are foolish!
Another thing… how injury prone has Watson become and how many games has he played in the last 3 seasons of rugby?
He is now a liability to have on your books, not an asset.
Kohli gets to his ton.
India 183 / 4 after 63 overs
India looking set to set a good 1st Innings total.
On top of it, Dale Steyn is off the pitch, injured.
Stumps Day 1:
India 255 / 5 after the 90 overs
Can’t see much crickey being played today!
Lots of heavy rain ALL night and still dripping at 07h00!
Skies clearing over Titans / Blue Heifer country now, so some play may be possible later.
Very slow start to Day 2, which started on time after more than 25mm of rain in the night.
India 264 / 6 after 99 overs, just 9 runs added in 9 overs.
Ahhhh, wicket off the last ball of the 99th over too!
Another wicket!
India 264 / 7, 99.4 overs gone!
Boooom!
Another wicket… 1st ball, Ashwin out and Philander has a chance of a hat trick!
All Action now!
India 264 / 8
1 Ball left in the 100th over
Sharma gone, bowled by Philander!
India 278 / 9
Vernon cleaning up the tail very nicely
Bowled him!
India 280 All out
Took 103 overs.
5 Wickets for SA on Day 2, only 25 runs conceded!
And Morkel, nice Proteas.
5 wickets for 24 this morning, great stuff.
Hope our batsmen can get a good start now, get a massive score and bat till the 4th day, round about tea time
22 @ nortierd:
Good bowling!
The question now is whether the batting pitch has become difficult to navigate.
Blomme will have to bat really well early on, and not give wickets away cheaply.
@ grootblousmile:
Morning GBS, for sure, the weather must have helped with a bit of swing too.
Patience required from us, and hopefully we only need to bat once. Think the pitch will deteriorate quite a lot, so we don’t want to have to bat last chasing a big score
24 @ nortierd:
5 SA batsmen with average figures near or over 50 in the lineup, plus another 2 deep in the 30’s.
So, the Blomme certainly have a good batting lineup.
Hope we stand fast and get the runs without taking needless chances.
Biff down injured looks like he was hit by the ball on the right knee… eina
SA 14 / 0 after 6 overs
SA 22 / 0 at Lunch, Day 2
10 overs have been bowled by India
Lunch is over, Test on again
SA 32 / 0 after 12 overs
Ag kak, Petersen departs, LBW.
Let’s see what the review says
