News out of the Stormers camp is that coach Allister Coetzee says Wallaby wing Cooper Vuna has not signed and will not join them for the 2014 Super Rugby season.
This declaration follows to refute news on Tuesday that the Stormers had managed to secure Cooper Vuna’s signature. Cooper Vuna currently plays for the Toshiba Brave Lupus in Japan and is a former Melbourne Rebels and Wallabies player.
It appears that there were attempts to lure the winger to the Stormers, but that the attempts had fallen through.
With Gerhard van den Heever and Bryan Habana both having left Cape Town for Northern Hemisphere shores, the Stormers will continue to search for suitable wing replacements.
It is likely that the Stormers could still make one or two signings prior to the new season,to be finalised in the next few weeks, Allister Coetzee said.
The Stormers had a less than stellar 2013 Super Rugby season, finishing 7th and out of the Play-off’s. Preparations for the 2014 season starts in all earnest next Monday.
