Ranger, 27, capped six times by the All Blacks but who called time on his international career to play for Montpellier, signed a two-year deal with the southern French side.

Ebersohn, 24, arrived earlier on Monday while lock Sitaleki Timani, 27, is set to join them after Australia’s final tour match against Wales on November 30.

“The team is gelling, but from experience the good players easily integrate,” said coach Fabien Galthie.

Ranger and Ebersohn could make their debuts for Montpellier, who are second in the table because of a poorer points difference than leaders Toulon, against defending champions Castres on November 23.

Still sad to young players forgetting that Rugby is a team game and that the only hope SA have is to build a strong Team to topple the ABs. I know the story of short careers but i can promise you if SA can reach the heights of New Zealand World rugby and all the money will be ruled by SA

The sad part is that players like the Ebersohn boys have been largely ignored as far as National honours are concerned, so aht have they to keep them in SA?

If the pinnacle of your Rugby carrer is to play Super Rugby for your local franchise, then why not go overseas. Experience a different lifestyle and culture, earn some good money, and let your family relax away from the stress that we live in in SA.

I personally think the Cheetahs will miss this young man terribly next season. Despite his still young age, he’s been organising their defence on the field for what seems an eternity.

    @ Scrumdown:
I don’t know how you could put the Ebersohn brothers in a catagory of being “ignored” I think you can put another 20 players in that category every time a Bok team is selected.

If they want to give up and leave all the best to them, but a “victim mentality” that South Africans are obsessed with, is something we need to sort out for ourselves.

These players must get their priorities straight and work towards those goals. To go work for money is something we all can relate to, but leaving and making a big scene like Brussouw did is going to get them nowhere.
