Jannie’s brother, Bismarck, already has 52 Tests behind his name, which means the duo will become the first brothers in history to play 50 Tests for the Springboks.
The only other occasion where two Springboks reached their 50-Test milestone together was when Bryan Habana and Jean de Villiers started against the All Blacks in Durban four years ago.
Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer will announce his team later on Wednesday. Adriaan Strauss is expected to replace Bismarck du Plessis in the starting team, with Fourie du Preez the other expected change at the expense of Ruan Pienaar.
Saturday’s clash kicks off at 17:00.
Great… let’s now just see a consumate win to celebrate these milestones!
