Some missed chances in this game, some silly penalties at critical times and in good field positions

Still, a win is a win, and the Boks are definitely going in the right direction. Can’t wait to see them at Murrayfield!

  • 304

@ grootblousmile:No – he’s definitely got one eye above the ground now, if not two!

  • 305

Good to see the Boks won this one, but pity about the lack of the 4th try.

  • 307

Cheers all, catch up next week

  • 308

The Wallabies have regressed… badly, under McKenzie

Nooooo there is still the midnight game!

Will be interesting to see what Fourie du Preez can do against the All Blacks

  • 311

    Buona notte a tutti!

At the End Of Year Tours… and even maybe next week in Argentina, this Wallaby side could kak off well and solid!

Well done to our Boks. Our discipline lost it for us tonight. We simply can’t play for 20 minutes with a man down. Also when they were without Hooper we just kicked it back to them for almost the whole damn 10min he was on. That was a waste of time. There we should really have kept ball in hand. Also in the first half Jean made a good break and never passed, there most definitely was a try on there.

WHY do we let the other team get to us? We our own worst enemy at times. We allowed the Argies to get to us in Mendoza and almost lost that game. Tonight we allowed the Aussies to get to us and that spoiled our game badly. We should just have stayed damn well focused and I am sure we would have got that 4th try. Instead we allow them into our faces all damn 2nd half and our game was poor because of that.

So now it seems the RC is over for us, as no way will we get 4 tries against the ABs next week and not allow them a try. We will only play for pride next week. We had to get the 4 try bonus point to really make a good go for it next week. What a pity we were only one try short.

I also feel that Lambie should get more than 5 minutes. Should have brought him on for 15min at the end. He can’t do much with 5 min in each game.

Another thing, why did we not kick for corners when we got a penalty when they were a man down? Just about any other team would have done that in the same postion. We probably could have scored a try there. Why did Jean tell Morne to take the 3 points instead? WHY? We were 15 against 14 then, it was crazy to have gone for the 3 points intead of trying to get the try there.

Hell I am disappointed we were just awful in the 2nd half. We score 23 points in the first and only 5 in the 2nd. We need to be far far better than that against the ABs.

Well done, Newlands!!! Best ever anthem since I can remember!!!! Strange game though with key players letting themselves down at keytimes!!!!! Who else is monitoring the 3 minutes scrum penalty, which is often a pedantic blow and when committed in the last 10 minutes of the game goes without the same sanction!!!!! Keep an eye on tomorrows game for more of the same!!!!! Also don”t understand the studs thing with particularily the WP springboks who play @ Newlands regularily????? Only guy in the backline with vision was Willie le Roux and the last quick throw-in by Genia should never have been allowed!!! Lots of work this week for Heineke before Ellis Park!!!!! Greetings

    316 @ badprop:
Was a game of mixed moments…

Bokke started like a house on fire, Fourie du Preez making a massive difference on the Bokke’s attacking speed.

1st 30 minutes or so was sublime, great Bokke rugby!

Second half was not good, till about the 60th minute or so when the Bokke started clicking again… pity about Duane’s card then.

At the end the Bokke were pushing bloody hard for that 4th try and almost got it.

One needs to remember that even though the Wallabies are off form, they still regularly hold the No 2 or 3 spot in world rugby and to beat them by 20 on a bit of a slippery pitch was still bloody well done… about the same margin home and away that they went down to the All Blacks…. food for thought.
