In a Springbok medical update, it still seems as though some players are still recovering from minor niggles as a result of the last test against the All Blacks.
The three players still struggling with niggles are Gurthrö Steenkamp (AC joint), Flip van der Merwe (hamstring) and JJ Engelbrecht (quad muscle).
The Springbok management has however acted pro-actively and called up cover to the Springbok squad to cover these positions. Juan de Jongh was called for the centre berth and could possibly replace Engelbrecht, whereas another option would be to play Jan Serfontein at inside centre and Jean de Villiers at outside centre.
The inclusion of Pieter-Steph du Toit covers for the injury to Flip van der Merwe.
At prop the Springboks are already well covered, therefore no need to draft in another replacement prop to cover for Gurthrö Steenkamp.
The injured players are still being monitored closely, ahead of the team announcement later today.
