With the All Blacks having beaten the Springboks over the weekend, in The Rugby Championship, they have extended their lead to four points over the second placed Springboks.
It would however seem that not everything is sunny in the All Black camp though.
Daniel Carter has been sidelined for six weeks after he picked up an injury in the All Blacks clash against the Springboks over the weekend.
Carter who is currently the world’s top point scorer and a test match tally of 97 tests, will be missing the All Blacks remaining two Rugby Championship matches and the final Bledisloe cup match against the Wallabies, which would have turned out to be his 100th test for the All Blacks.
This is an achievement he will now have to wait for till the End Of Year Tour, assuming Dan Carter is fit and plays in all three of those tests, he will achieve this milestone in Dublin and become only the fifth player in All Black history to achieve this milestone.
Carter has however not had an easy season, being plagued with injuries this year and only managing 3 out of 7 possible starts for his national side.
The injuries range from his broken hand, thigh injury and now a shoulder injury. Has the time come for Carter to start considering hanging up his boots, as injuries are starting to become part of his game?
It does at this stage seem likely that the All Blacks will call up Tom Taylor to the squad, with Carter out. This will be giving Beauden Barrett and Aaron Cruden the chance to make names for themselves in the number 10 jersey for the All Blacks. They will have big boots to fill as Carter has had a pretty flawless career in the number 10 jersey and has become a legend in the game of rugby.
Dan Carter has scored 1409 points in 97 tests with an average of 15 points per game on international level, whilst at Super Rugby level he has scored 1272 points in 95 games with an average of 13 points per game.
