Tappe Henning seems to be on his way to Edinbrugh to take over Scottish refereeing.
A three year contract was signed on Monday, for Henning to become the Scottish Referee Commissioner.
Henning will be leaving as soon as 30 September, to take up his duties in Scotland.
Henning will be focusing on getting Scottish referee’s back to global standards, as there were not Scottish officials at the last World Cup.
Henning played for Northern Transvaal’s under 20 side and afterwards joined the referees society in 1987. Seven years later in 1994 he became part of the provincial panel.
He then went on to become the youngest referee to referee a Currie Cup final at the age of 34. A record that was held until 2010 when it was broken by Craig Joubert. He refereed his first international match in 1995 and then the Supr Rugby final in 1997. And then retired in 2004.
