Schalk Burger has been set to resume training today after a long term injury.
He recently underwent minor tendon surgery which delayed his return.

In a interview conducted with Western Province coach Allister, the following was said:
“There’s a big possibility he could be back in the Currie Cup. I don’t want to put a time frame on it, but I am confident,” Coetzee said on Monday.
“He underwent a small operation and will return to training on Wednesday. We want to make sure there’s nothing that prevents him from running flat out.”
In other news from the WP camp it would seem likely that Deon Fourie is also going to miss this weekends clash where WP will face the Bulls. A final decision will only be made on Friday.
Rohan Kitshoff would seem the most likely replacement should Fourie be ruled out on Friday.
Tiaan Liebenberg and Frans Malherbe are still out with injuries, Liebenberg’s injury seems to be a lot more serious than was first though. Malherbe will resume his training in 3 weeks time.
Demetri Catrakilis will resume contact training this week as he was battling a shoulder injury.
Coach Allister Coetzee said, “Demetri was still not comfortable with his shoulder last week. He’ll start with contact tomorrow and we’ll see how he comes through it but Kurt has been very consistent. He’s grown with every game he’s started.”
I’d be surprised if Schalk still knows how to play rugby, it’s been such a long lay off!
