Louis Schreuder is back at scrumhalf for DHL Western Province in the only change to the defending champions’ line-up for Saturday’s top-of-the-table Absa Currie Cup clash against the Sharks at DHL Newlands (19h10).
Regular vice-captain Schreuder replaces Nic Groom in the No.9 shirt, with the latter dropping to the bench after last week’s thrilling 31-31 draw against the MTN Golden Lions in Johannesburg.
Schreuder will partner Kurt Coleman at halfback, with fit-again flyhalf Gary van Aswegen replacing WP Under-21 star Tim Swiel on the bench in the only other change to the Province matchday squad.
Whilst Province are the only unbeaten team in the 2013 Absa Currie Cup competition, the Sharks currently top the log with 14 points from four matches, followed by the Toyota FS Cheetahs and DHL WP on 12 points apiece.
“It’s going to be another tough game (for us),” WP coach Allister Coetzee said. “Although it’s a home game for us the Sharks will play with a lot of confidence. We certainly have our work cut out for us (this weekend).”

Cape Town – Former Springbok and current Brumbies Super Rugby coach, Jake White, was spotted at the Western Province Currie Cup practice session at Newlands on Wednesday.
White was in discussion with WP coaching trio Allister Coetzee, Robbie Fleck and Matthew Proudfoot.
While the reason for White’s presence at the practice was not immediately known, WP’s ‘faithful’ fans will be hoping some of his coaching ‘magic’ rubs off on the team, who, although the only unbeaten team in this year’s tournament, find themselves in third place in the standings as they prepare to take on the table-topping Sharks at Newlands on Saturday.
Kick-off is at 19:10.
