MTN Lions head coach Johan Ackermann has announced his side to face the Southern Kings in the second leg of the Super Rugby promotion / relegation series.
The match will take place on Saturday 3 August at 17:00.
Ackermann has made just two forced changes to his side which beat the Kings 26-19 in Port Elizabeth last weekend.
In the backline, Deon Helberg replaces the injured Deon van Rensburg on the wing. Ross Cronje will start at scrumhalf in place of the injured Viaan van der Watt.
MTN Lions: 15 Ruan Combrinck, 14 Deon Helberg, 13 Stokkies Hanekom, 12 Dylan Des Fountain, 11 Anthony Volmink, 10 Elton Jantjies, 9 Ross Cronje, 8 Warren Whiteley, 7 Derick Minnie, 6 Jaco Kriel, 5 Franco van der Merwe, 4 Hendrik Roodt, 3 Julian Redelinghuys, 2 Martin Bezuidenhout, 1 JC Janse van Rensburg (Captain)
Replacements: 16 Robbie Coetzee, 17 Ruan Dreyer, 18 Willie Britz, 19 Warwick Tecklenburg, 20 Guy Cronje, 21 Marnitz Boshoff, 22 Chrysander Botha.
Go Lions.
Jammer vir die Kings as span, maar net vir hul bestuur – GO LIONS!
Moet byse, nie ‘n groot fan van Kevin de Klerk nie, lyk altyd of hy Luyt probeer namaak met sy bombastiese houding.
With all the shit going on at the Kings lately – Solomons and people declaring they are leaving before season ends I am loosing my liking for them + that Cheeky factor.
On the other side the Lions are getting their ship of shore again and regaining trust and respect, hence me starting to favor them again.
A possible solution for next year would be that the Lions have first option on any Kings player, thus giving a few players the chance to play in S15 until 2016. Rest can them be picked up by other unions if required.
Kinda of a win-win situation
