Lions attack the LO maul very aggresively.
WP penalty advantage…. very kickable
Posts it is… will this end in a draw?
Draw is good result.
150 @ Pietman:
Lions also have A. Coetzee.
To think they never even played SR and most of Province side did. Lions are doing mighty well here. They let two easy tries in at the start. Otherwise might have been out of sight now.
Golden Lions 31 / 31 WP
Draw!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WP 9/10
Lions 7/10
Officials – FAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Getting to sound somewhat familiar?
Evening All
Lions leading AGAIN…. scuse me whilst I pick myself off the floor!!
Final Score: MTN Golden Lions 31 / 31 DHL Western Province
Lions got their bonus point though and WP once again did not
WOW!!!
What a match, but WP should have buried the Lions in the first 50 m inutes, the way they started it looked as if they would have an easy runaway with this one.
Opps satellite delay….
Look, I have no affinity to WP, but in all honesty, they were robbed by p1ss poor officiating tonight.
It makes me g@tvol to say the least that week after week we talk more about the ref’s than the game.
Draw.
Well done both sides.
Have to say it will be damn hard to beat the Lions at Ellis Park. If Cronje never tapped and went on his own when there was a plenty who knows that 3 points would have won it for them. Instead straight after Province scored a try. The other try was also a soft try. Lions woke up too late. Well in time to get 3 points. As they get 2 for the draw and another point for the 4 tries.
Hope my Sharks are wide awake when we have to play them there. Lions will get better as the season goes, as they playing against some teams almost SR sides.
Must say Jaco Kriel is brilliant
Not sure what to feel about this game, mag die dorings die Roos vrotsteek
A draw after all. My Stompie friends will have sweated buckets.
Lions, the comeback kings of 2013
MOTM please, they don’t show post match here.
163 @ Scrumdown:
And the worst of it all is that they above reproach.
Accountable to nobody except their own closed circle.
What would King III have to say about that if it were the corporate enviroment?
Now the Blue Bulls must just shock the Sharkies tomorrow… hehehe
@ Just For Kicks:
Don’t mention Lions and Kings in the same sentence!
Man Of The Match gets given to Franco van der Merwe… that is a surprise
168 @ Pietman:
MOTM: Franco vd Merwe.
He’s made a massive difference to the Lions and a good choice IMO.
Must say the Lions are coached very well, first team to legally counter a driving maul with success that I have seen
Franco van der Merwe – MOTM
@ Pietman:Hahaha, was waiting for someone to pick it up!!!
Kriel will be a Bok damn sure about that. Boshoff maybe. Have to see what A. Coetzee plays like after injury. Last year he was outstanding. He too could be Bok he is a classy player. Elton played well tonight as well. Such a pity Lions let in two soft tries. I suppose it goes like that though. They also scored while De Allende was in the bin and think he should not have got a yellow. So it evens it out.
To think Lions never even played Super Rugby this year? They sure are doing very well.
night night folks, sleep well and enjoy the ruggas tomorrow
172 @ grootblousmile:
Not a massive surprise IMO.
Had a big game WHERE HE’S SUPPOSED TO DO HIS WORK.
Too often performances like that go unnoticed.
178 @ Scrumdown:
True, but 2 players bust the game wide open when it mattered.. Cheslin Kolbe (had a quiet 2nd half though) and Jaco Kriel (maybe he was on a bit short)
173 @ Scrumdown:
Yes he is a great player. Was a privilege to have Franco at the Sharks this year. Sure helped my team with our lineouts. I think he enjoyed his time with us, but must feel good to be back with his mates.
