Rumours doing the rounds that the Cheetahs are set to lose some of their stars have been correct. Star centre, Robert Ebersohn has signed with French Club Montpellier. He will reportedly still play in this year’s Currie Cup, before furthering his career overseas.
Sport24
Robert has been a good servant of Free State rugby since he played Craven Week at under 16 level in 2005. He has since represented the Cheetahs at every conceivable level, and has also represented South Africa at the IRB Junior World Champs in 2008 and 2009, as well as in the IRB Sevens Series.
Ebersohn has ben a vital cog in the Cheetahs team for a few years now, and he will be missed. This opens the door for the likes of new signing Piet Lindeque, Joubert Engelbrecht, and Barry Geel to vy for the No 12 jersey. Other players that could be considered are Neil Marais and Robbie van Schalkwyk.
Only 24, Robert has time on his side to experience new different cultures, and lifestyles. He can comfortably return and stake a claim for a Springbok berth at a later stage in his career.
Good luck Robert, and make us proud in your new venture.
Fuckity fuck fuck!

Lol, I am in total agreement, but hey one door closes, and another opens. In general, I think he Cheetahs have done well to retain the bulk of the squad.
Bad news for the Cheetahs.
