    Goeie nuus….

    Dis nou bars of breek!

    Goooooooooo Bulllsssssssss!

Ek noem dit natural selection, not surprising!

    @ grootblousmile:

    2014 Gaan bitter moeilik wees!

I read this on a Aussie website, hope the Bulls can keep their heads level. I think Frans Ludeke,s experience can help here.

The Brumbies aren’t kidding themselves about the size of their task as they prepare for one of the toughest challenges in their history in the Super Rugby semi-final against the Bulls in Pretoria.

A seasoned opposition that has proved nigh unbeatable at home, a notoriously hostile Loftus Versfeld stadium crowd with a score to settle with the Brumbies’ South African-born coach Jake White, the 1214m altitude and jetlag.

It adds up to a daunting assignment for the underdog Brumbies who flew out on Monday after struggling to their 15-13 preliminary final qualifying final win over the Cheetahs in Canberra on Sunday.

    more,

The Bulls have won 22 out of 24 of their home games against Trans-Tasman teams over the past five years and haven’t lost to the Brumbies at Loftus since 2006.

The three-time Super Rugby champions have also won all five of their home finals matches, two of which were played at Orlando Stadium, Soweto, because of 2010 FIFA World Cup.

Adding to the Brumbies’ challenge, White – who coached the Springboks to win the 2007 Rugby World Cup – stirred the hornets nest last week when he said that Australian rugby players are smarter than their South African rivals.

When White was asked this week whether his side would embrace the week in South Africa head-on, he replied tongue-in-cheek: “They (the players) will go out, I will probably stay in my room.”

This is from a NZ paper sorry

However the Brumbies will take heart from several factors.

Not only did they beat the Bulls in Canberra in round seven, but they also played their best game of rugby this year in South Africa when they ambushed last year’s Super Rugby runners-up the Sharks with four first half tries.

“Who knows? Maybe we’ll do the same thing,” said White.

“There’s no reason why – if we prepare properly – that we can’t give ourselves a crack at getting a result.”

Maybe someone in SA must educate us too

Richens: Time for idiot fans to stop booing
Why, oh, why do people boo at sport games?

It’s childish, petty, thoughtless and does nothing for Canterbury sports fans’ already average reputation. And those who think it made a difference on Saturday night are wrong. The Crusaders outplayed the Reds’ forwards and that shut Cooper and Will Genia down; idiots booing and acting like they belong in a zoo had nothing to do with it. The anonymity of a crowd makes people pretty tough, doesn’t it.

You can’t seriously tell me the people who booed Cooper on Saturday night would do it to his face if they saw him walking down the street.

    It’s cowardly and embarrassing.

Sometimes I wonder if it’s worth writing this, the type of people that boo and abuse players probably can’t read anyway.

Maybe the dimwits – and that’s what they are – who boo every time Cooper is mentioned or popped up within 10m of the play will listen to McCaw.

    I bet they won’t.

We’ve already got a reputation of being rubbish fans, yet we as a public, or the Crusaders as a franchise do nothing, or next to nothing to fix it.

Idiot fans pay the same as the good ones so as long as there are bums on seats, I don’t suppose they’re too worried.

And while Crusaders boss Hamish Riach may claim school holidays played a big part in only 14,000 people turning up to a playoff game on Saturday night, the franchise may be better off looking at why going to the footy just isn’t that much fun anymore.
