Farrell must watch it in Oz, they will test his temper for sure, like they did with Butch on his first outing Down Under.
32 @ Pietman:
How can you have a temper like that if your size does not match it…
Klein mannetjie sindroom?
@ Pietman: Agree. A couple of time now he has lost his temper. I don’t rate him at the moment, his general sportsmanship leaves a lot to be desired. A jolly good Aussie klap will do him no harm at all!!!
Mike Phillips almost over for the 1st try… then O’Connell does score…
TMO
Looks good to me
Try awarded to Paul O’Connell
Lions 13 / 3 Barbarians
O’Connell off for blood
Good steal by Wyn-Jones, Lions penalty
Some ordinary Lions backline passing…
Mike Phillips scores
Breezed past Sergio Parisse
Lions 20 / 3 Barbarians
Terrible pass by Farrell flung accross the ground and forward, scrum deep in Lions territory
Strange game… almost listless.
You think it is the conditions in Hong Kong?
We won’t have a Live Game Article for the MTN Lions / Samoa game… it overlaps with this game… but we will try and post the scores from time to time here. That game starts at 14:30 SA Time (in a few minutes)
1 Minute to go in this half.
Lions penalty… they will go for goal
44 @ grootblousmile: Too much of a risk putting one up. One never knows when the GLRU are going to pull the plug on another match!
Lions 23 / 3 Barbarians

Howzit Kickers!
Farrell’s father also played Lions/England, didn’t he?
MTN Lions 3 / 0 Samoa as Marnitz Boshoff slots a penalty
@ Pietman:Yup. They also played together at Sarries – only father/son combination I know of
51 @ Pietman:
The older Farrell was a League convert… and I know he played for England… whether he played for the Lions, I’m not sure.
I know father and son played in the same game not too long ago, for the same Club side too
@ Just For Kicks:
Wow! Interesting.
Father a center, not so? What was his name again?
@ Pietman:Farrell senior started off in league. Was, by all accounts, pretty handy there too. There was a short while when Owen was thinking of switching back to league too. Bit of a money/fame grabber in my book – very much like a certain NZ/Aussie Cooper!
Hello all been doing this the old fashioned way ie listening on radio with lots else goin on, doesnt sound like its been the best of games I guess understandable given the hot humid conditions making slippery ball and field cutting up with the scrums, plus not the best Baabaas team and Lions players still getting used to playing together
Andy
2nd Half ON!
