Lastly a comment or two about the Lions bashers.

Firstly it’s quite quite disappointing to read some of the totally anti-Lions comments from some of the old stalwarts here who suddenly have changed their horns for spears. In these people(s) eyes’ nothing that the Lions do is seen in a positive light. The Lions can only play what is put in front of them, and if they were to suddenly beat the SA National side, I’m sure these detractors would still only have negative things to say.

It makes me think of all the cretins that slag Ellis Park off as being a shit hole, but haven’t been there since the 1995 World Cup!

Maybe those Lions bashers should consider moving their small businesses to PE. I hear the Eastern Cape has massive unemployment, so they could help the national economy, as well as be closer to their beloved Kings and their family of administrators / players that they all love and respect so much.

Then just a word on a certain SuperSport commentator, who is directly involved with Eastern Cape Rugby.

This man is also nothing more than a Lions basher with a soap box with which to shout from.

I’ve never heard him have a decent thing to say about the Lions in any of the games that he has done commentary on.

As a professional Rugby administrator in the EASTERN CAPE, one would expect him to use a little more decorum during his moonlighting stints on television. I guess you just can’t buy class!

Maybe someone should buy him a copy of “How To Win Friends And Influence People” for Xmas!

Don’t think it will help though, as my late Father in Law once said, “Once a fukc up, always a fukc up”.

I also just can’t grasp why SuperSport continually use him for Lions games, he obviously doesn’t enjoy watching them. Maybe they have their own reasons.

I’m the first person to criticise the Lions management and administration at the drop of a hat, so let me say that it was refreshing to hear the GLRU President PRAISING The Kings efforts in SR on 702 this week.

Lastly, let me say to those who may think that I am totally against the Kings, nothing could be further from the truth.

SARU were negligent in not making a plan to get 1st class Rugby to PE sooner, and basically had to “make a plan”.

Unfortunately it was a typical “Heath Robinson” plan where there could be no winners, so once again Rugby lostout due to the incompetence of the “holders” of the sport in SA.
