The Golden Lions Rugby Union (GLRU) have once again changed or shifted the goal posts for the remaining schedule of The Lions Challenge.
The French Barbarians game, which was cancelled and substituted with a SA Barbarians game, now falls away too, and in stead the Lions now have a bye weekend on that weekend.
They can colour it anyway they like, but it stenches of more incompetence and poor execution of a season which was always going to be a difficult one for the embattled Union.
6 International games have now been canned already!
Here’s the Official Media Release by the GLRU:

FURTHER UPDATES TO MTN LIONS FIXTURE SCHEDULE
The Golden Lions Rugby Union has made additional changes to the MTN Lions fixture schedule for the remainder of the Lions Challenge series.
Matches against Samoa (June 1st), the Stormers (June 14th) and the Sharks (June 21st) will still go ahead as scheduled.
There has, however, been a change to the proposed June 8th fixture against the South African Barbarians which will now be a bye weekend for the MTN Lions.
An additional match against local rivals the Blue Bulls has been scheduled for July 6th at Loftus Versveld.
Furthermore, the July 12th fixture against Montpellier has been replaced by a match against the Griquas at Ellis Park on Saturday July 13th.
Following the MTN Lions’ Vodacom Cup success, the team will look to continue their momentum and concentrate on their upcoming local fixtures, as they prepare for the Super Rugby promotion/relegation matches and the Currie Cup.
The promotion / relegation games are scheduled for Friday, July 26th (away) and Friday, August 2nd (home).

Die is nou soos om die dolk te draai in jou hart.
Dankie Bulle ek weet een ding , al mis ons die bus, ons gaan nie uitspeel teen die clowns nie.
Mr De Klerk i never liked your face, even from your playing days, i always wished Moaner or John moer the shit out of you. You are not good news for the Golden Lions, you made them bronze Lions, like a old statue
