Fit-again forwards De Kock Steenkamp and Deon Fourie have been named in the DHL Stormers starting line-up for Saturday’s Vodacom Super Rugby encounter against the Southern Kings at DHL Newlands (kick-off 17:05).
Steenkamp replaces Gerbrandt Grobler in the second row, whilst Don Armand makes way for Fourie on the side of the scrum. Grobler and Armand drop to the bench, with Marius Coetzee and Rohan Kitshoff dropping out of the matchday 22 from last weekend.
Lock Steenkamp has not featured for the DHL Stormers since picking up a chest injury against the Blues on May 3, whilst hooker-cum-flank Fourie missed last Saturday’s 20-15 win over the Reds with a rib injury.
“For the first time this season, injuries have not dictated to us from the previous match,” said DHL Stormers coach Allister Coetzee.
“Both De Kock and Deon have been key men for us and, thus, they retain their starting place – despite Gerbrandt and Don having done so well for us against the Reds.
“Our depth on the bench has – in turn – also been bolstered, so we will be looking to those players to make an impact when called upon.”
Tickets are still available for Saturday’s match and can be purchased at the DHL Newlands ticket office (until matchday), PostNet outlets and online at wprugby.ticketpros.co.za.

It’s a pity that Eben Etzebeth is back at No 4 lock, would have liked to have seen an extended run at No 5 lock, so that it gives Heyneke Meyer a definate added option for No 5 lock, going forward.
@ grootblousmile:
Agreed. He is versatile, and we may need him there.
2 @ Stormersboy:
Well, at least I hope they still make him call the lineouts….
Don’t worry, there is always Brok
4 @ Gena_ZA:
Brok is ‘n moeilike kalant… hy’s soos daai klein patetiese brakkie wat die Rotweiller doodmaak….
Omdat hy in die Rottweiller se keel vassit…. hehehe
@ grootblousmile:
No DeKock will most likely call them i think.
I would have kept it with DeKock at 4, the games he played there this season was the best I’d ever seen him play to be honest.
think they will interchange during the match, let the number not fool us
The Brokster is going to tear Schalk Ferreira a new one. Jammer Oom Dawie!
😉
@ Gena_ZA:
DeKock can like to be calling the line-out…….
Hallo line-out!!!!
