Griquas pivot Burton Francis is set to leave Kimberley after signing a deal with French club Agen.

The 26-year-old will join his new team on July 1 which means he won’t be available for Griquas in the Currie Cup.
Francis made headlines a few weeks ago when he helped the Cheetahs beat the Stormers in a thrilling Super Rugby clash. His penalty after the hooter gave the central franchise a 26-24 victory.
However, he has since fallen out of favour with the Cheetahs coaches with Elgar Watts and Riaan Smit now ahead of him in the pecking order.
For this reason Francis has decided to move on, but he’s nevertheless thankful for getting a chance to make a name for himself in Super Rugby.
“I got my chance at the Cheetahs and took it. I’m glad I got game time, but I’ve made a career decision.
“I’m not going to lie down now, but work hard to be a success in France. There a flyhalf has to best the best. He has to be a general,” said Francis.
He could have his hands full at Agen though, as the club is currently heading back to the Rugby Pro D2 division after being relegated from the Top 14.
